You've got no Santa? So that's what you think
(Way - hey - Santee Barb'ry)
Your Santa's a plowin' the briny old drink
(And all for a prezzie for thee!)

Yo (errr, ho) ho ho!

Oh joy! Oh joy!! A jamboree!!!
How lucky can one woman be?
How will I wait for two months more
To find a pressie at my door?!?

But there's one thing I should make clear
Before your next post, Santa dear:
If I be young enough, I oughter
Be not your "son" but your daughter.

Fear not, Ranger. Your Santa is on the job and only teasing you. Ebay is worldwide and has provided part one of your package. Now, do have them send it direct with a note "Do Not Open Until Xmas" or keep it as part of one parcel? Can a Ranger be trusted not to tamper with evidence?
What kind of Ranger are you, anyway? A glamorous Texas Ranger? A less glamorous but more useful Park Ranger? Or a totally useless gas guzzling SUV?
More teasing.

Is there anything else you'd like to know, you Jolly Old Elf?

Dear Marvellous Maeve, your hints have been read by one of my Elf-maidens and my Go-fers have all got their thinking caps and will be scouring my workshops and stockrooms for your hearts desires. No-one's even been in those rooms with a duster since last Christmas Eve, so I expect they'll spend some time sneezing while they work. I'll pass a bottle of Ginger Wine in every once in a while to keep them going. This may take some time.....

One banana, two banana, three banana, four
Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more.
Over hill and highway the banana buggies go
Comin' to bring you the Banana Split show
Makin' up a mess of fun, makin' up a mess of fun
Lots of fun for everyone

(CHORUS)
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la

Four banana, three banana, two banana, one
All bananas playin' in the bright warm sun.
Flippin' like a pancake, popping like a cork
Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper an' Snork

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Two banana, four banana, one banana, three
Swingin' like a bunch on monkeys, hangin' from a tree.
Hey there, ev'rybody, won't you come along and see
How much like Banana Splits ev'ryone can be

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Makin up a mess of fun
Makin up a mess of fun
Happiness for ev'ryone
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la
Tra la la, la la la

Since Arlo Guthrie's an American bloke,
You just may not have gotten the joke.
So perhaps you will go into hysterics,
When you ascertain the original lyrics.
A ki, you see, is a whole lot of something you smoke;
The first time or two it'll make you choke.
So you might want to stick with the couple of teas
--that I sent you, but still, here's the words of Guthrie's:

COMING INTO LOS ANGELES

Coming in from London from over the pole
Flying in a big airliner
Chickens flyin' everywhere around the plane
Could we ever feel much finer

Refrain:
Coming into Los Angeles
Bringing in a couple of ki's
Don't touch my bags if you please
Mister customs man

There's a guy with a ticket to Mexico
No, he couldn't look much stranger
Walkin' in the hall with his things and all
Smiling said he was the Lone Ranger

{Refrain}

Hip woman walkin' on the moving floor
Tripping on the escalator
There's a man in the line and she's blowin' his mind
Thinking that he's already made her

{Refrain}

Coming in from London from over the pole
Flying in a big airliner
Chickens flyin' everywhere around the plane
Could we ever feel much finer

{Refrain}

Why is it, dear Ms Underhill, it seems to happen that
Whether in the real world or posting on the Cat
Though now and then you pop upstairs as bold as ever was
You spend most time below the line in BS and in Oz

This year you say you've not been good,
But if you want some gifts .... "YOU SHOULD"

Santa Clues is coming to town, very puzzled, looking for purple stripey classical kids books

Santa Clues it's very true I am below the line
i live in the Antipodes where things hang upside down
I venture upwards here and there and love it when i do
and as for being good i know my friends are strong and true

Well, my head-scratching Santa stand-in, what have you been standing in? Perhaps it was long grass, and that is why I managed to miss your clues for nearly a week? Looking at some of the poetry on here, I'm sure poor old CCM must be whirling in his grave.

As to your clues, never having met in real life really does narrow it down a lot - I shouldn't have much trouble figuring out your identity from that.

I guess you're not a miner (nor a minor, nor yet A Minor) but there does seem to be some dirty work afoot. So there's no need to make promises of purity: that would be like coals to Newcastle, as the Purity Brewery is but 7 miles from my home and I can get their beer in many pubs in the area. Besides the cost of sending beer through the mail would be prohibitive.

I know Santa is supposed to reside at the North Pole, but would I be correct to think that you are usually further from it than I?
