uh-oh. the 'kind ladies' bit makes me even more nervous - given the number of fantasis and mythical stories I've read in which the 'kind ladies' were the fates (in their more sinister versions) and/or death.

We are touched by your forward-gazing remarks, and trust it is reciprocal, or will be soon. In any case we are in complete accord with your suggestion about inspiration. We need to get ahead of the curve so that we can persuade the Ladies of the Getaway that our sensitivity and mystic fascination with touching, deeply-felt experiences involving "frontal meditation" (as we refer to some of our meditative exercises) are not only inspiring to us in themselves, but are dramatically uplifted by inspiration in others.

Therefore we urge the Mudcat Ladies Benevolent Sensitivity Association to improve their capacity for inspiration (which is always uplifting) and their sensitivity to our forward-looking ambitions. We can use all the help we can get, despite our intense training in dexterity under mystic influences. With luck we can look forward to a program of inspiring exercises which will get us to a place where we can hit the spot, just under the wire.

You can be secure in your beliefs and understandings that the Mudcat Ladies Benevolent Sensitivity Association is taking under consideration our ability to assist in the practice and demonstration of the temple's meditation program. The glorious and bountiful assets management techniques utilized my our members(although individual practices and degree of personal uplift experience is still a subject of individual discretion and hot debate) will be available through out the weekend, and randomly administered as the spirit so moves. Although the ladies have their own techniques for Becoming Overly Blessed...... your stimulating exchanges are always a welcome addition.

I am so delighted that the Temple is being, um, received with such con-front and com-passion.

I am sure that the asset management skills will serve our benevolent purposes most fondly. We offer our sensitive support and lessons in Braille to anyone who desires them; Teresa may volunteer as a volunteer instructor in either the Braille lessons or the asset management training, or both. That's all still to be negotiated. But for now, thanks for your support, your answers are, um, spot-on.

Um, Euphrosyne, Aglaia and Thalia are the three graces actually. No relation to the Fates except they're all Greek.

It seems that Aglaia (Splendor), Euphrosyne (Mirth), and Thalia (Good Cheer) presided over banquets, dances, and other pleasurable social events, and brought joy and goodwill to gods and mortals. With the Muses, they sang to the gods on Mount Olympus, and danced to beautiful music. Personally I would look forward a LOT more to spending the Getaway with a bunch of ladies who thought they were the three Graces than the three Fates. I suppose it's too late now? Yeah I thought it was.

Awwwww, frown, SOB, sh@%#$&it, fu*%&$%@#ck me. This is the 1st time going over this thread, I didn't want to jinx myself. There was a really good shot of going & my wife was really ready to go too. I just looked at the list of attendees & I'm weeping. I think I've got as much chance of making it now as a snowball's chance in hell. Maybe in 2006 I'll be dealt a better hand, it's just not in the cards for now. I hope someone will post a lot of pictures. Have a hell of a time & good luck to all you long distance travelers, if you haven't been there before you'll find it well worth the effort.

www.fsgw.org, mooman. Folklore Society of Greater Washington puts on the Getaway in Camp Ramblewood in Darlington, MD. You fly into BWI airport in Baltimore and drive north for an hour or so. If you review the many threads you'll see lots of folks will be driving near and rides are possible.

I don't get into the mudcat much anymore so I won't be much help. just happened by.

approximate agenda - Friday evening meet and greet and eat - potluck supper; settling in, impromptu music, much hugging and chatter. late night music continues in some places.

Saturday and Sunday - workshops, mini concerts and impromptu stuff all over the place, good food, evening "concerts" you can sign up to perform in. Some farewells. late night music continues until ??? in some locations.

Monday - groggy packing, farewelling and leaving by sleep deprived - music continues.

Many 'Catters from the old side of the pond are headin' in and it should be a wonderful gathering. If enough of you make the trip, I will make a trip over there (he says tongue planted firmly in cheek, as if he had to be convinced to go to Ireland, England, Scotland, Wales, and Belgium....hahhaahahaha).
