What news of 2006? I've nearly persuaded Manitas he wants to go!!

2006 will be at a different camp....heated cabins and totally FLAT...but not the 'freedom' we have at Ramblewood. Seems there is always a tradeoff in location, rules, capacity, food, cost...etc...We wish there were one perfect camp that suited everyone....but.....

Sins! What makes you think I would give you a snake? What I have in mind would make a snake a much more preferable present. I think the Getaway would be the perfect place.

Jacqui, I know the captain. Any pointers you've learned from dealing with him would be useless for Wakana. Whereas he is an old curmudgeon, I am sweet, kind, and gentle. Of course, I know that Kendall is too. He just doesn't want to show it. Besides, Wakana is doing just fine without any help from western women. Maybe she has some pointers for all of you! Japanese women know how to deal with their men. They are sweet and submissive. And if you believe that one I have this property in New York I want to sell. It's a bridge...

Bill, I will take you up on that cooler. Can you stock it with something tasty? I will PM you with a list and reimburse you the expense. As for blankets that might be a good idea. We will have some kind of sleeping bags and sheet sets for sleeping in hostels but Wakana is sure to be cold as she is from a warm land and loves the tropics. Me? I have no plans to sleep. The best advice I ever got for working the Mystic Sea Music Festival was not to waste any of my time sleeping. It sond like this will be the same thing.

Oh, and I claim dibs on the best and warmest cabin/room. This is for Wakana, you understand. My own comfort is of little consequence but SHE must be comfortable. For her this environment is going to be about as alien an environment as anyone can experience. She ought to be able to sleep comfortably.

Brett ..... the warmest room will still be well below the tolerance level for this woman. I am glad you are coming, as this means that Kendal and I will not be the only ones in the shithouse with the women. Wakana, bless her heart, will likely not speak to you for bringing her to the land of cold arses and crazed folksingers.

It will be good to see you again, especially as you begin life as a celibate manwith a significant other ............

All the best,

Mick

Ok, I'll look for PMs about 'important supplies' as the time nears...

CET...hasn't BEEN a year..*grin*...and the 2nd to last last bottle, a couple of weeks ago, was just fine! That stuff ain't Budweiser...it has a bit of a shelf life...but I don't intend to test it longer--it will be gone this week.

Stephen - believe me - there will be notice when the registration forms go up - As Rita mentioned earlier "they" (or someone) will then start another serious thread - and if no one else does I'll make sure the link to registration forms is in this thread as well as the new one.

Brett - I'm gonna bring a bunch of spare blankies

I figure if we prepare for an ICE AGE we will probably end up with balmy night temps - so break out the goosedown and eiderdown!

Charlie Baum is planning to start a new edited thread for the Getaway when he posts the registration forms. There has been a sad delay due to Charlie's mom becoming very ill. She died on July 24 I'm sorry to say, that's why Charlie wasn't at Old Songs. I hesitated to post about it until I asked Charlie's permission.

Once we have the permathread for registration info, etc, I think we might start a second permathread just for logistics: how many people need to have pillows & blankets/sleeping bags supplied by local people, who can provide what, who is arriving when at what airport, etc. On the other hand that may just be too much organizing ... we'll see.

Actually, my mother died on June 24th (not July)--which explains my absence from Old Songs.

Rita Ferrara and I plan to get together on Sunday, July 10th, and engineer a new thread containing registration form linkages and other important information, which will be edited and kept to actual news and logistics. We're going to make it cross-listed to this thread, which is where the banter can remain, and we'll be editing the other thread to keep the banter here and not there.

Given the html coding involved in cross-referencing the two threads, I want her editorial skills to make sure I've got everything right.
