When the supplies thread gets started, we've got the same extra sleeping bag, comforters and blankets we had last time around. Although, whether they'll be unpacked by October (after we move to a townhouse mid-August) will remain to be seen...

I am not making any definite plans on what to bring or how to get there until I am in Maine. I will probably be taking the train or flying down there.

After the Getaway I will be in the Washington area for a few days. My nephew and his fiancee are there and we will visit them and go see the sights.

The latest news is that a Margo and Amiel Schotz are planning to come from Israel, which will give even the Alaskans competition for the person who comes the farthest.

We are definitely coming too. Planning to spend the two following weeks travelling up to the Lakes and round to Toronto region so any info on places to stay would be good. Can't wait to see everyone at the Getaway.

After the Getaway we plan to spend a couple of days with WYSYWIG before heading up to Buffalo for a day or two and then into Canada finishing our journey at Mystic Seaport on Friday 28th/Sat 29th October before flying home on Sunday 30th. Great to meet any Mudcatters en route.

I just looked at the calendar and find that I have five commitments for that weekend, including a Debby McClatchy concert. I've been at the Getaway six years in a row, but it looks like I may have to skip it this year.
Blame it on Debby McClatchy. She's already forced me to promise to wash dishes for her at San Francisco's Camp Harmony after Christmas.
I sure will miss the good times at the Getaway, though.

Well, if the truth must be told, maybe it was my fear of SINSULL that drove me away. but I'd better not say that. Now I'm up to eight excuses, two each on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The two classes I teach at church Monday are the ones that are hard to squirrel out of. I'm thinking hard on this one, but I haven't figured a way out. I won't have an opportunity to train replacement teachers until later this year, because the programs don't start until mid-September.
My wife Christina asked me who this Sinsull was, and I said she looks kind of like a prim-and-proper schoolmarm who went astray. I showed Christina Sinsull's picture, and she said that yes, she could see how Sinsull was the type of person who would give me a hard time. Of course, Christina thinks I deserve a hard time. But looking at those pictures of last year's Getaway, I thought how sad I'll be to miss seeing all those nice people this year.

If this is something like an 8 session course, simply have the last class on the 9th Monday. Two months advance notice is plenty to offer on a schedule or on a schedule change.
