Subject: RE: How to get permission fm Sydney Carter From: Micca Date: 01 Dec 03 - 06:27 AM Allison, you might get more info Here they seem to be his publishers? I understand( can't remeber from where) That Mr Carter suffers from either Alzheimes, or similar, which is a tragedy, for such a talented man.. |
Subject: RE: How to get permission fm Sydney Carter From: Richard Bridge Date: 01 Dec 03 - 07:08 AM He was definitely alive a couple of years back. He was reportedly (with some justification) upset at Flatley's use of the name "Lord of the Dance". I think Martin Carthy is in touch with him, so if you don't get any joy from his publishers you could try that route or Martin's agent. |
Subject: RE: How to get permission fm Sydney Carter From: Margret RoadKnight Date: 01 Dec 03 - 08:54 AM "Julian of Norwich" copyright Stainer & Bell Ltd (23 Gruneisen Rd, London N3 1DZ). Sydney still with us, at least as of a couple of weeks ago (letter from Nadia Cattouse arrived here in Australia today). |
Subject: RE: How to get permission fm Sydney Carter From: Herga Kitty Date: 01 Dec 03 - 07:09 PM I was a bit startled one morning, a year or so ago, to hear Rabbi Lionel Blue talking about his friend, Sydney Carter, and Alzheimer's on Radio 4's Today programme's "Thought for the day." Kitty |
Subject: RE: How to get permission fm Sydney Carter From: Joe Offer Date: 01 Dec 03 - 07:55 PM Hi, Animaterra - the no-hassle way in the U.S. is to get a license from the Harry Fox Agency at http://www.songfile.com. It costs 8 cents a copy, in lots of 500. For 500 CD's, that's $40, plus I think there's a $2 processing fee. I think the proper name of the song is "Julian of Norwich," but it's also listed under "Bells of Norwich." I got licenses for Debby McClatchy for her latest CD, and it was a very easy process. -Joe Offer- |
