I just received The Foggy Hogtown Boys Electronic Newsletter. It contained the following information. Please keep your eyes peeled.

On a sad note, friend and Dobro player Chris Barkley has had two Dobros stolen following a break-in at his home.   These were the only items stolen, so it appears the thieves knew what they wanted. If you see these guitars, please immediately call the police or Chris Barkley at (613)-535-1783 or email clem_buckley@hotmail.com On May 29th, the following instruments were stolen:

1) Mike Auldridge Signature guitar by Beard Guitars Model MA-6 number 026 with hard-shell TKL case. The guitar is black with 'hearts and flowers' Gibson banjo style inlay on the neck. The mesh has been removed from the screen hole covers leaving just the rings.

2) 1951 National 6-string electric lap steel. Charcoal-grey pearloid coloured body. The original fret-board is missing and has been replaced with a clear plastic fret-board with the fret lines drawn on with marker.

For photos of these instruments, contact Chris Barkley at clem_buckley@hotmail.com   Let's all keep our eyes open and try to get Chris' instruments back to him.

People that rip off instruments deserve to have their very private parts soaked in tar an lit on fire.

These could turn up anywhere. Let's all keep our eyes open.

Steve, I hope all is well.

Mick

No, Peace, tar is better because it sticks like hell and burns much longer and. Real pitch, not the plastic based stuff is required though.

I think that the really terrible thing here is that they only took the instruments, which would suggest to me that they must have known the owner.

Any way you could get Chris to post the pics of the instruments here?

(On second thought, the tar would be jus' fine.
