Subject: Stolen instruments
From: Allan Price
Date: 18 May 08 - 06:20 PM

From an email from Ben Broughton. The message is from his Aunt who has a music shop in Nottingham:

We have suffered a serious theft from our shop, amongst which was a traceable guitar. Please could you help us by looking out for the guitar and also forwarding this email to all your music contacts?

This was a very professional and carefully planned theft, not the all too frequent smash & grab scenario. We have strong evidence of the person responsible and only need a final missing link, so even the slightest suspicion could be very helpful.

If you have any information and would like to remain anonymous please use
Crimestoppers.    0800 555 111

The details of the stolen instrument are;

MARTIN D35 (no case)

Serial Number 1128973

Crime Number CS/047639/08

PC 3157 Kate Long

St Anns Police Nottingham 0115 9670999 ext 6751

Stolen on Thursday 1st May between 17.56hrs-18.21hrs

From Dave Mann Music

123 Mansfield Road,

There is a special place reserved in Hell for people who steal musical instruments. I truly hope it gets back to you unharmed.

Signed,

A Martin D-28 owner.

Two and a half weeks later - after the theft...

They should be settling with the insurance agent.

Why so slow on the upload Mr. Allen?

It's not just the getting back of the instruments, such a well planned theft means an organised criminal, one who should be stopped, more so if they intend to continue targetting musical establishments such as the Music Room, Dave & Rachael have been running that place for eons, they deserve better.
I only hope they don't move on to other music shops in Nottingham, Hobgoblin may also be at risk, they are similarly exposed.

Actually I've been unimpressed with both shops - but that doesn't mean they deserve thieves!

It was an item, an object, a thing for sale, like a Whimpy's at the corner.

This was not something with a lifetime of emotional attachments.

Insurance will pay - which is why you pay insurance.
Police report filed -
Record of THEIR purchase price -

Gargoyle

It is spring and robins are in the hood no doubt sans serif is lookin good.

At least nobody was hurt, especially as the crime took place in Dodge City, the gun/slum capital of the Midlands!
