Hi everyone.I am putting on a school musical and somebody suggested that we make a video and CD of it to sell to raise funds for the school.I know this raises copyright issues.How much does it cost to acquire the copyright of a tune?Thanks for any help.

to acquire the copyright - depends.

To record a performance check out "mechanical copyright" - works out to roughly 8 cents a copy in the US. plus possibly a performance fee

I assume you have scripts and scores? Who owns the copyright on those? Call their main office and talk to the person there.
