Subject: copyright site? From: dusterjim Date: 13 May 98 - 04:36 AM I used to have a link to a site that had music and lyrics that the copyright had expired on. Hey, things happen, lost the link, does anyone have a clue as to the whereabouts of this site? Jim |
Subject: RE: copyright site? From: Joe Offer Date: 13 May 98 - 06:51 PM Hi, Jim - Click Here for a Public Domain Music site. There was another that shut down, and I think this one may be a resurrection of the older site. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: copyright site? From: steve t Date: 14 May 98 - 01:30 AM In addition to any new thoughts people have, try a forum search on this topic. Someone pointed out earlier, that a great copyright faq was at: http://www.aimnet.com/%7Ecarroll/copyright/faq-home.html |
Subject: RE: copyright site? From: dusterjim Date: 26 May 98 - 01:57 PM Hey Joe, Thanks for the address to the public domain site.sorry that it took so long to get back. Sometimes I get so busy that I don't have a second of time for six months. And Susan (from California) here is another copyright site http://www.kohnmusic.com/articles/musiclaw.html This site has the forms that you can download along with the instructions on how to fill them out. I recommend sending them in by registerd mail, that way when the copyright office receives it you get a notice back. The date that they receive it is your copyright date. After some ages pass (remember this is a gov. office), you will get a certificate (maybe not so suitable for framing) of copyright. And hey, if anyone is interested, the web page for the band that I'm in is going to disappear pretty soon as we are changing servers because our present one is doing away with their unlimited service, the address is: http://home.att.net/~jjplummer/bridgeport_volunteers.html |
