Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Sorcha Date: 19 Sep 07 - 09:34 PM OK, I'll take a look. Thanks! |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: katlaughing Date: 19 Sep 07 - 11:06 PM First Lady, heck....let's turn it around and make her the Prez! |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 19 Sep 07 - 11:11 PM She'd make a great president (IMO), but I think we would have to change the constitution in order to do it. But since she and Dennis are very much alike in most ways (except gender, height, and nationality), we would be getting essentially the same thing with her husband as president. And we'd get her too. |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Amos Date: 19 Sep 07 - 11:24 PM She can do just fine backing Dennis up; any man with that horsepower behind him has everything he needs to straighten things out for the better. She's delightfully clear and direct and articulate, as well as being a pleasure on the eyes. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: catspaw49 Date: 19 Sep 07 - 11:34 PM I wish them both luck but frankly he's unelectable even in his home state, perhaps even moreso in his home state. He's been in trouble in his own district for supporting trade and in trouble around the state for the liberal pro-union stance. Honda and its suppliers provide over 40,000 jobs in Ohio and they're non-union. Last time around he angered many by saying that to be union was to be American. Honda folks didn't care for it. I hope he does well.....I like the guy. But we're not out on the streets where a lot of people don't! Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 19 Sep 07 - 11:58 PM He knows what it's like to be out on the streets himself, from when he was growing up and his father's work was catch as catch can. He says that's why he's pro-union. |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Amos Date: 20 Sep 07 - 12:03 AM Hell, those two will go far even with out the Presidency. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Liz the Squeak Date: 12 Nov 07 - 06:14 AM Well, 0nly my mother and my manager call me Elizabeth, and as one is sitting not a million miles away this moment, it must be you mother. What do you want? I'm a bit busy! LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 12 Nov 07 - 09:42 AM Eat your greens, and sit up straight! |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: goatfell Date: 12 Nov 07 - 01:08 PM yes this is about Queen Elizabeth the First of England and not Britian, but a good film none the less Tom frae Scotland |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: wysiwyg Date: 12 Nov 07 - 02:20 PM Carol's on a first-name basis with the Kuciniches. Carol, what are their kids' names, so I'll know them when I see THEIR threads? Are you campaigning here, by any chance? Good-- I'll campaign for Jesus. ~Susan |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Amos Date: 12 Nov 07 - 02:26 PM I don't think there are any dogs in that fight...but if so, my money's on Elizabeth. At least the rest of us can see her well enough to be impressed. A |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 12 Nov 07 - 03:02 PM Do you have some ants in your pants, WYSIWYG, or have you appointed yourself the person we have to submit our posts to for approval? Are you going to go harass the people who start threads about all of the other candidates as well? I see there's a Barak Obama thread running currently, and there's close to a dozen about Hillary in the back pages. Oops! Looks like at least seven of those only use her first name. I guess you better go find out if those people are on a first name basis with Hillary before you approve them. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 12 Nov 07 - 03:06 PM I see there's a few Biden and Edwards threads, too. Better get busy, WYSIWIG! |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 12 Nov 07 - 07:49 PM Dubya is a middle name - but it's a bit familiar to use it. Then back here, love them or hate them, it was Tony, and Maggie, and Harold (twice), and Clem, and Winston... First names do seem pretty prevalent in politics. I don't really think WYSIWYG needs to worry too much about any overfamiliarity involved. It's a bit late in the day for that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: Liz the Squeak Date: 13 Nov 07 - 08:10 AM So maybe we should call Bush by his nickname of Tosser? LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Elizabeth From: CarolC Date: 13 Nov 07 - 12:08 PM I'm sure he wouldn't mind. After all, he calls his former top aid, Karl Rove, 'Fart Blossom'. Plus, he would probably think 'Tosser' is a nickname people use for football quarterbacks. |
