Go for it - I was horrified to read in the Annual Report that there are at present less than 3000 members. Their present efforts on behalf of both song and dance deserve better!

Around 55 years ago I attended a concert at CSH and, in one evening, heard MacColl, Lloyd, Ennis, Cameron and Ritchie, talking, singing and playing. Ive never recovered from the experience. I've been a member ever since.

I'll second that (but then I would, having been a member since my early twenties!)

I must admit to having let MY Membership lapse a LONG time ago when my local area organised a Dance For Dancers on what used to be called
National Folk Day .
Now I am just an Equity member !

I've tried to find the answer to this question in the past but never succeeded:

What would it cost for the Vancouver Folk Song Society (of which I'm Archivist) and the Princeton Traditional Music Society (of which I'm Secretary) to join EFDSS?

See Jim, told you it was a good idea to contact Jane in the membership department!! Better get more copies of the Winter 2008 issue of English Dance & Song printed in anticipation of the flood of new members!

In the thread on Vaughan Williams day at Cecil Sharp House there has been some discussion about how membership of the EFDSS would work if you were to join now. This is the definitive answer from the membership secretary...

Quote :-

It's more obvious if you think of all memberships ending on 31st December.
People who join in the autumn, paying the full 2008 rate, get membership for the rest of 2008 and all of 2009. A bargain!
Okay?

Best wishes
Jane Gregory
