This is pretty exciting. Thanks for posting it to the list.

Archie is one of the few performers I would literally drive 500 miles to see. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure, make reservations now. It's been years since Archie has performed on our shores.

Feb 12: Watertown MA. Watertown is right next to Cambridge. Across the Charles River from "Boston proper" but all part same urban area.

Archie was on the Irish Music Cruise along with the Makem and Spain Brothers, Evans & Doherty, Matt & Shannon Heaton, Hanneke Cassel, Gabriel O'Donoghue and many others.

I was on another Irish music cruise leaving from the same port, Ft. Lauderdale, and we got to meet up, have a jar and shoot the breeze for a while.

Archie is another (cliché but true)living legend. Treasure him while we've got him.

Archie is also listed as attending and performing at the Folk Alliance conference in Memphis, TN February 17-21. It's not listed on the itinerary posted above - maybe because only those folks registered for the FA conference can attend his showcases, performances and workshops? Anyhow, since he's not coming to the West Coast this trip I'm very glad I'll be seeing him at Folk Alliance, and heads up to any other Mudcatters who'll be there.

Sorry I didn't ID myself in the previous post. I'm not as active in this as I use to be, but I still do a few shows a year, under the guise of Thirsty Ear Concerts. At this point I usually only do house concerts, but for someone like Archie Fisher, I'd definitely come out of retirement to put together something more substantial.

Maeve and I went to see Archie in concert last night. Kendall had a recurrence of a back problem and so was unable to join us, so I was doubly glad of Maeve's company.

It was definitely worth the hour's drive to be there - we had a great evening and I loved his songs. Next time he's in the USA we're going to try to get him to come to South Portland to do a house concert.

Despite the weather warnings we didn't see one flake of snow, which meant dry roads and easy travelling.

We saw Archie in Watertown MA (Music For Robin Concerts) last night. He put on a fine show. I hope he comes back through sooner next time, his previous show in the area was about 12 years ago.
