LEWISTON — New England Celtic Arts will present Archie Fisher, host of BBC Radio Scotland's award-winning "Traveling Folk" program, Tuesday, June 12, at the Franco-American Heritage Center (Lewiston).

The avid horseman and master guitarist/singer-songwriter will also take the stage Wednesday, June 13, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center in Carthage; and Thursday, June 14, at Unity College Centre for the Performing Arts in Unity... Curtain is 7 p.m. at the Franco Center and Skye Theatre; 7:30 p.m. in Unity. Pre-show jam sessions are slated one hour before show at Skye and Unity. Tickets are $15 at the door. The Franco Center is at 46 Cedar St.; Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive in Carthage; and UCCPA is at 42 Depot St., Unity. For reservations at the Franco Center or Skye Theatre, call 562-4445; at UCCPA, call 948-7469. "

I get to see him two weekends in a row, in Mystic, CT, and Cumberland, RI. Time to refresh the Summer Solstice Festival, because that's the event at which he will perform. The Mystic thread is already active.

Good weather is predicted for the Blackstone River Theatre's Summer Solstice Festival at Diamond Hill State Park in Cumberland, RI, on Saturday. I'm already looking forward to hearing Archie again!

The weather was wonderful and of course so was Archie!

At the session after the festival, one of the young singers sang a song (wish I could remember what). She introduced it by saying that she was usually accompanied by a piano player but hoped to do it with just another young woman playing a guitar. However, that other woman soon stopped playing--but Archie picked it up. I hope the young woman is delighted that she can now say Archie Fisher accompanied her singing on his guitar!
