Subject: Wild Geese - Anne Hills (need lyrics) From: GUEST,Lin Date: 23 Mar 18 - 07:16 PM There is an album by Anne Hills called "The Panic Is On." I am looking to find out who wrote the song and lyrics to a song called, "Wild Geese." It actually is part of the song that is "The Water is Wide" and then it goes right into ("Wild Geese") I am only looking to find out the lyrics to "Wild Geese" (not "The Water is Wide.") Also if anyone has the chords for this song "Wild Geese" please post. Many thanks, Lin |

Subject: Lyr Add: WILD GEESE (Ian Tyson) From: mg Date: 23 Mar 18 - 07:36 PM one I referred to WILD GEESE (Ian Tyson) Wild geese flying by, calling on the downwind as they go No answers they send, and springtime has too many miles to flow The lone black pine, hillsides all covered with snow. Why does the wind say you ain't coming back any more? Was there a time when my dreams were not always of you? The days ain't so bad, but each night takes so long passing through Down by the stream, fresh otter tracks in the snow Why does the wind say you ain't coming back any more? I've got a mind just to ramble this whole country round With the fields (hills?) turning green and the frost boiling out from the ground Drive through the miles of country I've never seen before Now that the wind says you ain't coming back any more. |
Subject: RE: Wild Geese - Anne Hills (need lyrics) From: GUEST,Lin Date: 23 Mar 18 - 08:10 PM To mg: Yes, that is the one. Thank you for printing out the lyrics. I didn't know Ian Tyson wrote it. I have only heard the version cover by Anne Hills. I used to have that album at one time but with many moves over the years, I don't have it now so listen to it on Youtube. Not sure the reason it starts with "The Water is Wide" and goes right into "Wild Geese". Thanks, Lin |
