I think it's well-enough known that Dominic Behan wrote "Come Out Ye Black and Tans". however, I'm trying to figure out if he sung it; I'm sure he did live anyways, but I can't find any extant recordings. If it is recorded, it might be under the name "Come Out and Fight", as according to Wolfgang in this thread, that's what it's called in his book The Singing Irish.

It would be quite disappointing if there's no recording by the man himself of probably one of the most-recorded Irish folk songs ever!

As it happens RTE just started a new series on the background of popular songs and Come all you.. was the subject of the first episode:

Aistear an amhran

I don't know if it will provide an answer to your question though, I haven't watched it yet.

OK, I just watched the rte programme, he does make an appearance but there's no footage of him singing included.

Is this a different song than "Bold Black and Tans"? It's featured on a 1966 compilation album, Rebellion At Easter

I heard this sung by a 20something last October at Wellington Folk Festival. Hadn't heard it for years before that.

@cnd, Thompson
That seems to be a different song. The one I'm talking about is sung by the Wolfe Tones here: https://youtu.be/78ATHfSwf-A?si=2Uuktxoh2nx0ut2F
