Except I rather doubt it's a mudcatter done it.

I'd have thought the rational thing for the thief would be to send Ralphie a ransom note, the way art thiefs do.

Even Mike Harding's heard about this low, mean and dastardly theft now and announced it on his show last night. That means the entire land knows one of our Fyldes is missing. And one of you out there knows where it is...

On occasion when this happens to a friend I ask some of our music buddies to send out thoughts to the guitar to find its way back home. (& the dirty dog who stole it to the pokey!). Sometimes it has actually worked, so what do we have to lose? We should all use "the force" or whatever you choose to call it to mentally reach out & draw the guitar back to Ralphie. If folks all over the world could send positive thoughts &/or prayers to a giant telescope in outer space to "heal" or fix it's technical problems, anything is possible. And I suppose voodoo is not such a bad idea, either! Anyone know a good voodoo spell to bring a guitar home?

having had two treasured guitars stolen (along with a tour that was scheduled to start the afternoon I came home to my broken-into home) I can only say I'm sorry to hear about your loss, and share with you my fantasy: I come home and instead of two missing guitars (and other assorted gear) I find my big vicious dog (which I unfortunately don't have) standing over two dismembered arms--one still clutching my collings guitar, the other white-fistedly gripping my jerry jones baritone. pity, it didn't end that way. i hope you find your instrument and that the cosmos takes care of the karma of this heinous act.

Take heed the rest of you, photograph your instruments & take down the serial number today.
Also good for bicyles & kio carp (but they don't have numbers)

I've spoken to Ralphie and have some spare web space, so I've put a photograph here of the instrument in question.

Hope someone spots it soon.

Warn the buyers at Cash Convertors - they get offered an awful lot of stolen gear, also the shops in Denmark St -and the Acoustic Centre---- the guitar will probably be sold on very fast - when I worked in a guitar shop in N London, we stopped a thief who was trying to sell a guitar he'd stolen from a Denmark St shop the very day before, as the owner had called to warn us (it was, like yours, distinctive)
good luck

Hi Ralphie, I'm sorry to hear that too... :-(
have you registered it on http://www.stolengear.ukart.com. ? it's a database of stolen musical instruments in the UK. Worth a try anyhow perhaps...?

Oh Ralphie, I'm sorry to hear that.

I suppose you know the usual shops to check? Do you have a photo of you with the guitar to prove ownership? Take it with you if you do, I've known a theft victim have to buy back his own guitar because he couldn't prove it was his originally. (He finally got his money back though, someone came up with a photo of him playing it at the gig it had been stolen from, the night before the shop owner put it up for sale).

Hope something turns up... and I trust you told our gallant boys in blue?

Hi.
Could any UK people keep a look out for My 1974 Fylde, stolen after a gig in Tooting South London, last Friday night (29th Oct)
It's quite an early on Serial number 174 (I think!)
Cedar top, Maple back and sides, fitted with a Fishman Rare earth Pick up system, Black Hard case with "James Patterson" stencilled on the neck.
Reward offered for any info.
Cheers Ralph.
