It wasn't the Nimitz, it was the USS Oriskany, which sank mysteriously off the coast of Florida in May. Supposedly there was no loss of life, but there was little or no coverage in the mainstream media. Surely this was an Al Queida attack!

We've had someone calling up people and claiming to be from the library, telling them that they have overdue items and asking for their credit card information to pay the fines.

1. We don't take credit cards (yet).
2. They called long after we were closed.
3. The first person they called didn't HAVE a library card -- and he told us. And we told the newspaper and the television stations, who ran an alert.
4. We wouldn't do business that way anyway.

There was one going around purporting to be from a British Serviceman a few weeks ago...again clearly not written by anyone who had been educated in Britain or America.

As I remember though, he wasnt either A.W.O.L. or doomed by Cancer.

Whil clearly these people are truly stupid, you wouldnt think stupid enough to have a INDIAN email address or one with his NAME actually in it, if wanted for criminal acts/awol. Still, the greedy & gullible can be very blind!
