Subject: Songs Written by Lonnie Donegan? From: buddhuu Date: 16 Apr 11 - 05:41 AM Please could someone enlighten me? My mother-in-law is visiting and we were chatting about the late Mr D. She recalls being surprised to hear that he wrote a certain song... Unfortunately, precisely which song is the one detail that eludes. Help with few candidate possibilities to jog the memory? Ta very much. Rick |

Subject: RE: Songs Written by Lonnie Donegan? From: GUEST,Captain Colin Date: 16 Apr 11 - 09:44 AM "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" was co-written with his then guitarist, but as the tune already existed (as he freqently acknowledged) then in effect he had a hand in writing the lyrics- which is not quite the same as writing the song. He wrote one or two other album-filler songs but none achieved prominence. And of course who wrote "new words and music" to a large proportion of his output. |
