Listening last night to an old Vernon Dalhart record, "In The Baggage Coach Ahead" (a classic ghoulish piece), I thought: where could I get the lyrics for this, since there is somewhat obscure in it? Well, why not try the DT, obscure and balladic as it is? And lo and behold, there it is, with extra verses and everything.

Thanks -- we don't thank it enough for its victories -- and double thanks DT!!!!!!
yours, Peter T.

With all the talk about the Mudcat and what it was, is, and shall be we sometimes forget that the DT is what brought most of us here. Such is the case for me. The song was "Three Old Ladies caught in the Lavoratory". I even had the title wrong..........hahahahahaha. It gives a great deal of pride to know that one has contributed to this invaluable resource. Dick Greenhaus is one of the most dedicated folkies in the world. And people all over the world are grateful for what he has created.

T'anks for the reminder, Friend Peter.

all the best,

Mick

I was looking for the Gaelic lyrics to Ansacht na nAnsacht. Not only did I find them, I also found Big Mick's food and the fun and conversation to be had here at the 'cat.

I remember coming here for the first time last May, searching for the lyrics to Is Ar Eireann Ni Nosfain Ce Hi...I got help within the hour...I was HOOKED! Likewise, when performing on Hearme (like last night) you get a request for a song you know but don't have the lyrics--in 2 seconds you're in the DT, print them off, and BOOM! There it is! VIVA LA DT!

I, too ended up here referred to the DigiTrad by way of a lyric search. More specifically, I knew a few lines of a song I'd been looking for for many years, but I didn't know who wrote it or the title. Somehow I found The Mudcat Discussion Forum, posted a request, and within a few minutes had the title, songwriter, and was "Blue-Clickey-ed" to the complete lyrics! I have never seen a site so keyed to my interests! And it's not entirely musical, a lot of it is just plain fun.

At the risk, actually certainty, of being redundant -- yeah, me too...don't remember what the song was I was looking for though.

Yes, I too looked up songs for several years, first on Digitrad and then through Mudcat before I even opened the Forum. Didn't think I'd be interested- boy, was I wrong! Reduntantly yours, Ebbie
