Sheila Mainwaring tells me that the Manchester Folk Magazine - BUZZ is ceasing publication. For those on the southern reaches of their domain, the excellent Shreds and Patches (Shropshire) is kept very much alive by Sheila. Available by post from:-

01952 240989 mainwaring@enta.net

1 Herbert Avenue
Wellington
Telford
Shrops
TF1 2BT

And the next issue of Folkwrite (Gloucestershire ++) is due out Mid January (ish)

flos@madasafish.com

& by post from:-

38 Upton St
Gloucester

I'd be interested to know why Buzz is closing.

Down here the drift from formal clubs to sessions and singarounds has reduced bulk sales of efn but that is matched by the increase in individual subscriptions while advertising is stronger than ever.

The other magazines in the region all appear to be in good health, the big problem is getting somebody to take on the committment when the existing editor has to give up.

intresting trend or is it that no-one is available to organise a 'club' in your area?
Our club in St Albans has had a good autmn/winter,season ending this week with Jeremy Taylor on Fri29th at the Comfort Hotel.
The club began as a singaround session and existed for 18 months,Another sing/sess has been spawned too
