If you're serious, try contacting them by e-mail. I think it would be great to have a UK Mudcatter in that position at Sing Out. But the UK folk scene would be the poorer for the loss.

Managing Editor for Sing Out! Magazine

Job Description

Hours: 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday-Friday (Overtime, which is required at deadlines or whenever requested with a minimum of 24-hour notice by the executive director.)

Salary: low- to mid-$30s per year to start (commensurate with experience)

Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this position are, by basic nature, broad based. Ultimately, any tasks that may be required for the completion of day to day operations and any project work may be assigned as part of the job, however, the following are specific daily responsibilities:

1) Setting the schedule for production of the magazine, including deadlines for columns, articles, songs, artwork, etc; notifying all parties involved (through the mail or by phone) of the deadlines; and assuming the responsibility of seeing the deadlines are met.

2) Entering and proofreading copy for the magazine, along with composition of various in-house news and listing columns.

3) Sending tear sheets to all companies whose books or records are reviewed in the magazine. Returning any photos or artwork as necessary.

4) Making sure all contributors (writers & and songwriters) whose materials appear in the magazine are put on the mailing list as well as mailed any recompense as agreed.

5) Managing and soliciting of the magazine advertising (except billing).

6) Working with the editor to help solicit articles and songs for future issues. (Final editorial decisions remain with the editor.)

7) At magazine deadline, any work necessary to assist the Art Director and Editor make the deadline.

8) Schedule renewal mailings for memberships.

9) Any other tasks related to the corporation that may be requested by the executive director.
