The person to contact re: festival fringe in 2005 is Bill Lankester and his email address is sidmouthfringe05@aol.com.
sidmouthfringe05@aol.com

Bill has been a principal 'friend of the festival' for years . His snail mail is 60 Temple St Sidmouth EX10 9BQ (he runs JKL video)

As Countess Richard has warned above and Derek Schofield has too, the sidmouthfeatival.org site is run by a couple of Tory Sidmouth councillors and it is unclear that profits from their little schemes will be ploughed back into the festival for 2006. There will be more on this on my website (www.seered.co.uk) when I get time to load it later this week.

I know Eddie is part of the group organising to organise for 2006 if you see what I mean (along with the Wren Trust etc.)

I don't think he is part of this organisation.

Best regards,

Dave

I do believe John Dowell and Eddie Upton is on the committee for the festival so i dont think we will go too far wrong with booking guests for next year.I know they are only giving their time for next year only.

It may be that as the big headline acts need to be booked months if not years in advance, they are looking to fill up the spaces left by those who abandonded Sidmouth when they heard it was cancelled next year.

Rumour has a lot to answer for.

Frightening that they don't know who to book.

I really do wish anyone well who is keeping Sidders going but that is not the way to do it..IMHO.

Best regards,

Dave

Be very careful about this. The '.org' lot are not the same as the organising committee set up to relaunch the festival in 2006. They are the ones who already run the Caribbean evening as a separate entity.

I got talking to a guy at Bridgnorth last week who said that the new organisers of Sidmouth are looking for acts to book next time round and are asking for demos/CDs. I've had a look at the festival website and it doesn't say anything about it there. Anyone know anything about this - if so, can you pass me on some contact details, please? :)

Chris
