So sad to hear this news. We met Julia a number of times and attended a party with her and Nic in Dorset where we spent the evening together. She was a lovely woman. RIP Julia.

Their on-line shop closed recently.

The web site simply says "Our online shop is now closed, and we’re currently unable to respond to email enquiries. Apologies for any inconvenience."

Sorry to report, but I have recently read twice (in separate places) on Facebook that Julia Jones, long time partner of Nic Jones and keeper of the flame of his music alive via Mollie Music (www.nicjones.net) passed away recently. I have no other information regarding this but possibly others have. I never met Julia in person but she was always cordial in recent correspondence we had regarding some of Nic's early recordings.

In a discussion of one of Nic's performed songs "The Isle of St. Helena", Julia mentioned that her great great grandmother was born there!

Presuming that the above is correct, my sincere condolences to the Jones household, and maybe others on this list have more information.

I should maybe point out that Julia's presence on Facebook was under the name "Julia Seymour Jones", Seymour being her surname before she married Nic and which she apparently liked to keep, although her email account from which we corresponded was entitled "Julia Jones". Of course she just signed herself "Julia" so I am not to know what was her preference in conversation or with friends.

I just heard the news of Julia’s passing from Keith Kendrick at a Party last Saturday. I was very sad to hear it. I had contact with Julia during my 6 years as Secretary of The topic Folk Club when arranging bookings for Nic at the club. She was always a pleasure to deal with and had a good sense of humour, I would have liked to have met her face to face. After Nic’s accident which was a couple of weeks after he had played our club, I would have been at that gig had it not clashed with our club. When Julia started Molly Music I had contact again when obtaining records especially the Halliard releases. She was also very good at passing on information on the latest that Nic Was involved with. I had been getting round to contacting her again re some past recordings when Keith dropped the news on me. It is very sad her passing and my condolences go to Nic, Helen and Joe at this very sad time. Trevor Charnock
