Subject: Chord Req: Nic Jones tab Please From: GUEST,Tipp y Date: 27 Mar 06 - 04:25 PM Hi, By any chance does anyone know the tab to Nic Jones' Little Musgrave? If not does anyone know what tuning (if capoed etc).I've been having a go myself but I'm afraid when it comes to working things out I'm useless. Thanks Tippy |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Nic Jones tab Please From: Chris Green Date: 27 Mar 06 - 06:58 PM It's in modal G tuning (DGDGCD) There are three basic chord shapes - G C and D. G - 2nd string 2nd fret C - 4th string 2nd fret D - 6th string 4th fret, 3rd and 2nd string 2nd fret. I'll try and post a tab for the main riff tomorrow, but as it's one in the morning where I am I'm going to bed! Hope that's enough to get you started! Chris PS - I think it's capoed to three but it might be five! |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Nic Jones tab Please From: Leadfingers Date: 27 Mar 06 - 08:42 PM Why do I have this strange thought in my mind that IF we could all work out what Nic was doing , we would all be as good as him ? |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Nic Jones tab Please From: Chris Green Date: 28 Mar 06 - 09:24 AM You've got a point LF! Particularly since he never played anything the same way twice! On the other hand we can but try, and if you're trying to get into using open tunings, Nic's about as good as it gets! Chris :) PS - Tab on the way, once I've worked out how to load it up here! |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Nic Jones tab Please From: GUEST,Tippy Date: 28 Mar 06 - 05:39 PM Thanks Chris. I'll have a bash at it tomorrow. Saw Martin Simpson do it the other month and for a change I was listening to the words and not taking much notice of the music. Didn't even know what it was called until I accidently came across Nics' version. I haven't stopped listening to it since. Just love open tunings. Big fan of John Martyn but alas very hard to decipher. (As are most things for me) Thanks again tippy |
