Depending what sort of music, you might look into playing The Assembly Rooms or the King Arthur pub in Glastonbury...should be a happening weekend, with Beltane and all...

Thanks Vectis, I have emailed Upton, it's short notice but you never know. It is on our way south(or on the way back).

Try Upton. It's not too far north.

We're coming down from the north, so Bristol/Gloucester Herford area would be of interest too.

Padstow is I think actually May 1, whatever day of the week that is.(Or it used be twenty years ago, though perhaps they modified that if it was a Sunday).Padstow's no good anyway, I'm on the scrounge for a gig! They celebrate quite happily with what they've got, and very rightly too!

Well you've got to go to Padstow, but I,m not sure what day they'll hold the may day celebrations -isn't it always Saturday. Padstow May day is one of the most memorable days in my recollections. The trouble is it is so oversubscribed now. Back in the mid 70's it was wonderful. I havent been since then. What do recent visitors think of it now?

Hi
The Boat Band have a wedding gig Glastonbury way on Sat May 3. Now we can't help feeling there must be some fun and frolics going on in the south-west on a Bank Holiday weekend, but we havent so far come up with anything exciting. Anybody know of any festivals, village thrashes, hobby-horses etc that might want a bit of goodtime traditional music on the Friday night or Sunday day, anywhere not a million miles from Glastonbury?
