If you're doing chord symbols, you may eventually find that you wish you'd put them all closer to or further from the staff. If you highlight a stretch of music, including the notes, text, and barlines, and then right click the highlighted area (or press Alt-Enter), you'll find that the dialog box has a separate tab for "Expression placement". You can use this tab to make global changes to all of the text within the highlighted area: its position above the staff, its placement with respect to the notes, etc.

Thank you, Snail. I didn't know about that! That will come in handy when changing keys.

...or, when you've highlighted the little grey shape, press Alt+Enter. This will bring up a dialog box where you can edit it. The Alt+Enter trick brings up the appropriate dialog box for whatever is highlighted (highlit?). If nothing is highlighted, it brings up the Staff Properties dialog. Very handy.

to the left of the chord symbol is a small, gray shape. Carefully highlight that little shape and click Delete.

I'm putting chord symbols on top of the staff in NWC, e.g. E B7 etc, with the "X" command ["text expression"], and it works fine - BUT there seems to be no method of removing or changing them!! Any advice on this?
Yours in desperation....
