I was touring in Brittany when the news of Nic's crash started filtering through. Just to hear and see the great man brought fond memories flooding back to me. I could have kicked myself for missing this unique event - thanks, Ralphie, for the pics and the vids!

Dearest Julia ~~ Thank you. Now I bethink me, it was Joe I remember. Forgive my confusion ~~ I am in my 80th year now, dammit! & indeed I was much impressed with his mohican on the clip.

Do you recall our mutual visits back in 70s-80s when you lived in Doddington & Valerie & I in Haddenham? I am still in that house, though now with my wife of one year Emma: Valerie died 4 years ago.

I have a recollection of carrying Helen around quite a distance at a Norwich Folk Fest when I was staying over with the Bellamys; so she must have been a very little girl then.

Greatly regret could not make the concert, but glad it appeared to have been so successful. I sent regards to you via Nigel Paterson though, with whom I have been corresponding on another thread about recollections of The Halliard ~~

Well, as there was no official recording sanctioned it might be a good idea to put your pics up on the Facebook Nic Jones appreciation society Group, for all to see. The family pop in there from time to time, and you've got some pretty good pics there.

Apparently I did that alot, and had to resist the urge to repeat such a comment on Saturday!!! I have very fond memories of the festivals and the people I met. If I'm honest at the time my master plan was to ingratiate myself with as many people as possible in order to illicit ice creams and hot dogs from them behind my parents backs. Mike - I presume that would be the Cambridge Festival 1975 as I think that was the only Cambridge that Nic did. It was supposed to reflect the folk club scene more prominantly that year and did quite a good job with Nic, Tony Rose, Vin Garbutt, Five Hand Reel and quite a few others.
I was the only Cambridge that I have ever attended.

It was lovely to see your videos, mine were from the left, yours were from the right and others were in the middle. I think there may be one or two folks who go to gigs just to be able to whinge here if they see people taking photos or videos, rather than just to enjoy the music.
