Subject: Lyr Req: SPANISH Cuatro Milpas alternate version From: Iona Date: 03 Aug 12 - 02:16 AM The Sons of the Pioneers, in the 1940's, recorded a song called Cuatro Milpas. However, as I search for the lyrics, none match their version. Calling all Spanish Speakers! I'd love to know what the words are to this version of the song, but I don't speak spanish so I can't transcribe it of course. Email me at DollyMadisonEtsy {at[ gmail [Dot{ com and I'll send you the audio.....maybe some Spanish speaker can translate it for me and help me get the lyrics so I can Thanks! Iona |
Subject: ADD: Cuatro Milpas (Spanish) From: Joe Offer Date: 03 Aug 12 - 02:41 AM Lots of the lyrics sites have this song, but the diacritical marks are all messed up. I found the song at this site, which seems pretty close to a number of recordings I found. I found a Sons of the Pioneers recording on YouTube if somebody wants to attempt a transcription. It's more-or-less the same, except that it begins with the second verse and the first line of the second verse is a bit different. I can't quite make it out - sounds like "ma presadas tus ojos...". Apparently, it found its way to the lyrics sites because it was sung by Francisco Gonzalez on the American Psycho soundtrack. Also take a listen to this YouTube recording, which includes lyrics. You can also find the song at elmariachi.com, my favorite source for Spanish lyrics. |

I should have checked fatjud1's channel first thing. He's got tons of SOP stuff... Yes, that's the right version. I'd love to get their dialogue translated. What's so funny? :D |
