Subject: Bob Copper Centenary Event - July 2015
From: GUEST,Jon Dudley
Date: 14 Jun 15 - 02:17 PM

Just to let you know that we will be holding an evening event celebrating the Centenary of Bob Copper. It will take place on the evening of Friday 17th July at 7.30pm in the Parish Church of St.Margaret's, Rottingdean, East Sussex.

There will be a proper real ale bar in the churchyard and the church itself is set up for performances, having a decent sound system. We (The Copper Family) will be inviting some friends to join us, amongst them, Shirley Collins, Martyn Wyndham Read, Duck Soup, Bob Lewis, Stuart Reed, Laura Hockenhull and of course The Copper Family themselves.

Tickets are available online from:
http://www.chichestertickets.co.uk
also, locally from The Queen Victoria, High Street, Rottingdean, East Sussex
St.Margaret's Church, Rottingdean, East Sussex
Union Music Store, Friars Walk, Lewes, East Sussex

Profits will be divided between St.Margaret's Church and 'Sussex Traditions', a charity created to preserve the cultural heritage, crafts, music and dialect of the people of Sussex.

As you may know we had an event in London back in January, but felt that it was appropriate that Bob's Centenary should be celebrated in his home village, indeed in the church where he was a choirboy some ninety years ago.

We are sure that the event will be very popular, and as numbers are limited entry will be by pre-purchased ticket only.

CJB - if you send and email to folk (at) brighton.co.uk, I will reply with the e-addresses of both John Copper and Jon & Jill Dudley.
I was given copy of the document that you put on dropbox but I have lost my copy. I seem to remember Val Wagstaff, the then organiser of that Brighton folk club telling me that she has typed out Bob's hand-written article to make the document you posted.
