Subject: RE: Copper family From: Kim C Date: 22 Nov 00 - 05:28 PM Mister got me that for Christmas a couple years back. I really like it! |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 22 Nov 00 - 08:17 PM That link Long Firm Freddie gave there has, among other things, stuff about the book A Song for Every Seasons which has 47 of the songs with the tunes, and puts them in context, so you understand what the songs are about and the circumstances in which they'd get sung and so forth. |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: GUEST,Martin Ryan Date: 23 Nov 00 - 03:49 AM McGrath Great book, too. I still pick it out and read a few chapters at least, around Christmas/New Year every year. Anyone know the book "Songs and Southern Breezes", which Bob also wrote? Better still, anyone got a spare copy? Regards |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: GUEST,Brian Date: 23 Nov 00 - 08:29 AM I've Songs for Southern Breezes a couple of times, and can recommend it. Unfortunatly, I don't own a copy, I borrowed it from the local library. I'm still looking - I guest I'll just have to look for two copies now, Martin. If you're in the UK, try your local library, if they don't have it, they may be able to get it on an inter-library loan. Brian |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: catspaw49 Date: 23 Nov 00 - 08:51 AM HEY FOLKS!!! As we talk a lot of supporting the Mudcat, we all need to remember that an awful lot of things are available HERE and it would be great to keep that in mind. Check the "SHOP & AUCTION" section of the 'Cat and you'll find an extensive listing of stuff available through The Mudcat Cafe!!!! CLICK HERE AND SCROLL DOWN---SURPRISE!!!!! Not being smartassed, but we really do need to support this place in anyway we can. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: Michael in Swansea Date: 23 Nov 00 - 08:59 AM I picked up the 4 album set "A Song for Every Season" for £3.50 (unused) about 15 years ago and the book for 25p. Excellent value. Now then, "The Copper Family Songbook", if you're in the UK, or even if you're not, I think you may be able to get a copy from:
Veteran Mail Order
I've had some tapes, cd's and a couple of books from them but unfortunately I've mislaid their catalogue. I'm almost positive the book was in it.
Whether they're on the net or not I don't know. Send an A5 s.a.e. for catalogue. Good luck Mike

Subject: RE: Copper family From: dick greenhaus Date: 24 Nov 00 - 08:21 AM While CAMSCO is cutting down on books, we carry this one. Fine collection. |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: GUEST,Marc Date: 24 Nov 00 - 08:40 AM Like I said,I made the purchase through you guy. However, howcome I can only buy one item at a time? Had I been able to fill a basket instead of filling out that form for each item I'd have spent more money. Marc Bernier |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: Steve Parkes Date: 24 Nov 00 - 10:58 AM There was also a boxed set of 4 albums called "A song for every season" on the Leader label, in the sixties/seventies. I imagine it's been deleted by now, so I don't know if you can get it. Steve |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: catspaw49 Date: 24 Nov 00 - 11:18 AM Hi Marc.......Glad you bought the way you did. To answer your question on multiple purchases, you click on "Add To Wishlist" and then go on and shop. You can click on as many "Wishes" as you like and when you're finished, you can select those you wish to buy (as opposed to the whole list) and make your transaction. I've seen the same system on other sites ..... a basic market basket approach. Sorry if it was confusing. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Copper family From: Big Mick Date: 25 Nov 00 - 02:21 AM And, for those that don't know, Mudcat's own El Swanno (Dave Swan, most noted for being Peej's husband and father of my cat) and his group Oak, Ash and Thorn have performed with the Copper Family...........The boy is good........ |
