I am always fascinated where we all live.Most of you know i live in a small town called Talbot Green,nr Cardiff by 10 miles in Wales UK.I just thought it might be interesting if we roughly knew where other Catters lived?.
Its worth trying.

There is a location list of Mudcatters, but it is very out of date.

I live in Lairg 60 miles north of Inverness in Scotland, so we're about 600 miles apart.

Well, I live about 600 miles - by air - from Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. About 900 miles by road on sea and land. 900 miles - by air - from Seattle, Washington. Ain't no road.

So far I have been to Inverness earlier this year Giok on the way back from Dornoch where i was on holiday.Next year i will be in Port Patrick in March.
The other places i have heard of but never been too.Your all so lucky to live so remote.

Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. But, my forefathers on my father's side are from Three Miles In Back Of Beyond, in the fly infested bog country of Kent County, NB. My camp in Kent County, a one hour drive away, has no power, telephone or cell phone service. But, the flies are still there. It's heaven.

Not far from beautiful downtown Orillia, a smallish city of about 30,000 people, in central Ontario, Canada, and the Tim Horton's donut shop capital of the world!

Oh, and it's also the birthplace of Gordon Lightfoot.

It is positioned between 2 lakes, therefore blessed with two waterfronts. Definitely a very nice place, but it's rather hard to find jobs here unless you like flipping burgers or working at Wal-Mart.

Not far from town are the palatial residence buildings and sprawling campus of the WSSBA. In the main rotunda is a gigantic statue of Him, standing beside a 300 foot long Tribble. You have to see it to believe it.

I live in Commutaland - Chesham, 7 miles outside the M25 London orbital motorway, at 10 o'clock. Brilliant for getting anywhere, and that's the best thing one can say about it; because anywhere is more interesting than here.

I live in an older apartment building (historical landmark status) on a tree-lined street on Capitol Hill, which is a very nice older residential district not far from downtown. There is a neighborhood business district (grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, pubs, bookstores, etc.) a few blocks to the west and another a few blocks to the east. Volunteer Park and the Asian Art Museum is a couple of blocks to the north.

Pleasant surroundings. You know;   Camelot West. . . .

Albuquerque, New Mexico - which is part of the US, not Mexico. West of Texas, east of Arizona, north of Texas and Chihuahua (which is part of Mexico), south of Colorado. The city was founded in 1706 and named after the Duke of Alburquerque (Spain), I think because the original Spanish colonists wanted him to give them money, but they spelled it wrong and got nada.

45 minutes north of Boston & 45 minutes west of Portsmouth NH & almost 45 minutes NW of Gloucester, Ma. So I'm within a circle that's known as the folk music hub of the world, you're all welcome to come by & experience it.

Hi Desdemona, neighbor, we haven't yet crossed paths, I think lously memory) but hopefully one day. You gotta be close by, I'd guess around Clinton, Bolton area or just to the south somewhere. Do you go to any of the Boston area sessions. My wife & I missed meeting you at the Waterson/Carthy concert. Another time perhaps?

Lapeer, Michigan, on I69, about 50 miles north of Detroit. The town's just big enough to have a monster Walmart, a few small assorted manufacturing plants, most of the fast-food chains,at least four coffee shops, and a decent art gallery.

And now for something completely different - I'm one of the Oz 'catters. I live in Sydney Australia - major city and capital of NSW. We are on the east coast with a beautiful harbour and lovely beaches. We have the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and NO kangaroos hopping down the street. There are a few of us in Sydney, but I'll let them post.

I'm actually in Earlwood, which is one of the south west 'burbs of Sydney - close enough in to make it easy to get into town but far enough out to have freestanding houses, wide streets, big blocks of land with lawns and gardens, and trees and birds. Best of both worlds, really!

Like JennyO I live in the suburbs of Sydney, in the wild western suburbs. Sefton is about 40 minutes south-westish of the centre of the city (far too close in my opinion - at least 3 hours away would be better). It's very ordinary although we are well served by parks and there is a golf course just around the corner, so plenty of trees and birds.

Sefton rarely makes the news except for something like a murder in the local pub carpark.

But my heart is in the country and I can't wait to get out of the city, I used to like it here but have grown to dislike it intensely. Only 2 more years to go.........

KAKSOD Ebbie! You're bad! Now you've got me imagining the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge hopping down the street.

Believe it or not, there are still a few ignorant souls around who think we have roos in the city running wild, or as pets. Not in this elite company of course ;-) What was I thinking?

Actually, John (Warner) and I went to a concert in the Opera House earlier this month - it was called "Enchanted", and was a rather amazing combination of classical and folk, with Danny Spooner performing with the Sydney Chamber Orchestra. We had free tickets because one of the songs he did was a song John wrote, Newell Highway. Very special!

We have a lot of great places in and near the city - The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Luna Park to name a few. At Darling Harbour near the Maritime Museum there is moored the James Craig, a fully restored and operational 1874 sailing barque - a beautiful sight. It goes out on trips regularly and there are shanty singing sessions on it sometimes. Pity the parking there is such a !&*@#&* problem!

I dont have Kangaroo's but i have plenty of Grey Squirrels and wild birds that i feed plus a black cat who i call Tom.I think i must do some more traveling if only i wasn't scared of flying.

Kings Cross, the entertainment centre of Sydney, about half a mile up the hill from the CBD, next to Sydney's beautiful Harbour.

It's a mixed area of retail, entertainment (expensive bars/nightclubs, 24 hour liquor licences, strip clubs etc) & the highest density residential area in Sydney. Old & new apartment blocks, old terrace housing, lots of rich folks, still some poor folks, street people & drug addicts, lots of backpackers, zillions of tourists & visiting Sydneysiders out for a "good time"

The Cross was part of the first British settlement of Sydney in the years following their arrival in 1788. It's part of the suburb Potts Point which includes Wooloomooloo (public & private housing), Elizabeth Bay (where zillionaires live), East Sydney & Rushcutters Bay. All localities include terrace housing, small old & tall new apartment blocks, rich & poor. And tourists.

Smallish town of 7500 or so souls, located on Lake Huron, called Goderich. Ontario is full of such towns and they all claim to be unique in some way or another, and I suppose they are, except to be full of generally good people. We have a pleasant little 1880s brick house with tangled gardens, two dogs, two kids (well, one's still at home), and well...I think there's a toaster in there somewhere too.

Alternately I spend time at the family place on Georgian Bay, where, like my parents before me, I hope to retire when the time comes.

Truly if it wasn't for my good wife, I'd probably be living under a bridge in my very own cardboard box.

It's mostly farmland, I'm surrounded by farmland on three sides, with a Yuppie mansion development across the road, but there are trees that block the view, fortunately.

I live in a hamlet of 8 houses and 2 farms, only one of which is less than 200 years old, on the south eastern slopes of Bodmin Moor, on the upper edge of the Lynher valley, in Cornwall, UK. I love it to bits and the only way you are going to get me out of here is in a box! I look out of my windows and see open moorland, ancient broadleaf woodland and cows.... also on the horizon I can see bronze age barrows and remains of engine houses.
