I wrote this to create chords and chord names along with the option of a fretqwik diagram here: guitar.htm. It must be open at the same time NWC is.

It does not know what key your song is in so all notes will have naturals or sharps on them. If you Audit Enharmonic Spelling, this will be corrected.

Just thinking, anyway, did you mean CHORD NAMES like Em7, or CHORD SYMBOLS, those things with dots and strings on them?

HARMONY only does chord NAMES at the moment (btw it reads MIDI and abc as well).

Pavane, your drop-down chords certainly sound like a good idea.

I would try your program, but I already have hundreds of pieces of music derived from other programs. I worry about some incompatability making my old work inaccessible.

Best of luck with HARMONY, though.

To avoid the mouse in Noteworthy:

1. type the x on your QWERTY keyboard
2. turn on capslock
3. select the font. (I use Bold.)
4. type the chord, using the shift if necessary to get a small 'm' for minor chords.
5. use right arrow to get to next note
6. use Ctrl+right arrow to shoot to beginning of next measure.

The next time you hit the x, it will remember the font.

If you use Windows, you could look at my program HARMONY.
You can drag and drop chord names onto the notes, or type them in, as you prefer.

It can also generate the chords automatically (and the notes for them)
My site

It has quite a few other facilities which I believe are not available in Noteworthy.

How can I add guitar chords to a tune I have completed Noteworthy. I can write them underneath with a pen when I have printed them off but it would be useful to put them below the staff when I have finished putting the tune into the staff.

Cheers

Les in Chorlton
