Where is Donald Garwood?

The other day, while browsing through a second hand book store, I came across a book called "Masters Of Instrumental Blues Guitar". It was a book of tabs that seemed to concentrate on Mississippi John Hurt and Mance Lipscomb, with nods to Rev. Gary Davis and a few others. A look at the tabs showed them to be well written and very clear and easy to read (I did not have a guitar with me, but they seemed well done.)
I have seen many books written by folks like Pete Seeger, Jerry Silverman, Stefan Grossman, Happy Traum, Woody Mann, Harry Taussig... but have never heard of Donald Garfield. Was he a performer? Did he write any other books? Why have I never heard of him? This seems like a really well put together book, by someone who has a good working knowledge of the material.

Afraid I'm not Jim. However there are some available on Amazon and I suspect eBay. Somewhere around $20.

Incidentally, I can locate nothing about Garwood himself.

I can't help with info on Garwood but that was a very important book for me and your statement that "A look at the tabs showed them to be well written and very clear and easy to read." is right on the money. I think I learned all of the John Hurt tunes in it including Candyman and Frankie (which is the first tune I think I ever became obsessive about learning because I loved it so much). It also had a good discography that got me going on my country blues LP collection.
