From: catspaw49 Date: 18 Jul 00 - 02:36 PM Okay Roger.....There are two types of instruments using the name "Dulcimer"......The first is the Hammered Dulcimer CLICK HERE and SCROLL DOWN-Bottom Photo which is played by striking the strings with "hammers" which are small wooden mallets about 6-8 inches long. You can check out the other which is called a lap, mountain, or Appalachian dulcimer.....an entirely different instrument which is fretted and strummed......by CLICKING HERE.
