The Poster Of The Year 2007 award result will be upon us in less than a week now. In time honoured tradition it will be up to last year's winner to do the count and make the announcement. Hey, Rap-Man. I bet them Sudbury skanks flippin' miss me, eh? I bet the cops do too. I was, like, the light of their lives, man! I am the stud muffin they all dream of (or wish they was), eh?

Well, I hadda expalin to Atrtixes and the guys here about Christmass becoz they did not know nothin' about it, eh? Not one thing. I told them about all the important pints like presents, decoratin' the tree, gettin' drunk, singin' flippin' Christmass corrals and all that stuff. Oh, and the baby Jesus too. And Santa Claus too. And the flippin' manger and all that, eh?

Man, are they ever flippin' confused about it. They can't flippin' make heads or tales of the whole flippin' thing, but they did the best they could fer me, eh? They come up with some stuff that is like eggnog with rum and you can drink all you want and get flippin' loaded but you dont' get hung over the next day, eh? Flippin' decent!

And they put on a great light show.

They seem to think that Santa Claus is the dad and baby Jesus is his kid, so I hadda straiten them out on that.

I have got all lotta work to do before they are reeally up to date on this, I guess.

Merry Christmas to you Shane, and everybody else at 85B. I would also like to wish everybody a Happy Boxing Day. We don't do that one in the states but from what I learned about it last year we should.

BTW IWTATBM, I worked up a spreadsheet with all the entries from the year and had it updated throught he end of October (really). There is one contributor who was so far in front, and has been posting since, that there was no need to go beyond that. I will announce who the "Poster of the Year, 2007" is when the calendar turns and there is no longer any possibility of things changing. It would take a seismic shift for that to happen.

I don't think that was from the real "Shane."

For one thing, his Sudbury sweeties really do seem to miss him. I had an email (via the Legion's email address) from someone named "Trisha Morrissey" who said that she really would like to find "Shane" -- something about applause I think, but her message wasn't very clear due to the invective she used (I really don't think that "Shane" is capable of doing what she suggests he do without considerable help, and even then it sounds very, very painful). Anyway, she has mentioned "Shane" to her father and brothers, all of whom seem to be miners or something, and they want to meet him too. I replied that I have no idea where "Shane" is, but if I did find out I'd be happy to forward the information to her. I suggested that she contact Don McBride in Blind River, who I believe is "Shane's" next of kin.

I am beginning to think that "Shane" does not exist, or at least no longer exists. The reasons are many and you will have to work them out for yourself, but compare the "Shane" who started this thread with the last "Shane" who posted.

Ya know, something just occurred to me.

Oh, boy! 3 days of melt here and the 2 feet of snow and ice that was piled on the roof has just about all vanished. Yippee! It may be completely gone by tomorrow.

The Dachshunds are happy with the rise in temperatures, but a bit disturbed by the rain and wet ground. Real summer soldiers, those guys.

We had about a foot of snow on the ground that the weekend of rain and 60 (F) temps has pretty much done away with. Our rain has now turned to snow BTW but I don't think it will amount to much.

In this part of Quebec we have not had much rain.Thank God because we had lots of snow. It has gone down a lot but a flood threat still exists. Today it's very mild here, about 15 degrees.

I'm not sure if it's true or not. Younger and slimmer dachshunds have no trouble at all climbing stairs, and I suspect that while having an erection would interfere a bit...it would not stop the little rascal if he was determined!

When they get overweight, however, then they begin to have real trouble with climbing stairs even at the best of times, and they can suffer back injuries quite easily.

My friend Mary's last dachshund was treated for back problems; it cost her over USD2,000 but you DON'T just chuck responsibility. His name was Corny (Cornelius) and he was a very giving dog -- he developed a stomach cancer, but put up with the Vet School at Purdue University working him over to see if various treatments might help other dogs in the future.

Her current dog, Huey, was raised for his first year to be a show dog. We believe it nearly abusive -- Huey will only sleep in his crate, for example.

Dachshunds are pretty danged good dogs, all in all.
