Subject: RE: Little known '60s Folk Singers From: PHJim Date: 20 Apr 26 - 07:12 PM Has the late Jackie Washington from Hamilton, Ontario been mentioned? My first guitar hero in the early sixties. I saw Tex Koenig mentioned for his appetite as well as his performing. I recall one guy who could out eat Tex, and that was a skinny lttle guy with a rich baritone voice and super guitar skills named Mose Scarlett. Mose hung out with Leon Redbone when Leon lived in Toronto and they shared much of their repertoire. I think Leon went by "Sonny" in those days. Leon and Mose died on the same day. |
