Subject: ADD: Mr. Moon, Mr. Moon - Origins From: GUEST,Jeanne - Long Beach Date: 15 Feb 08 - 07:33 PM I was just looking at the thread for white coral bells and it reminded me of another song from my childhood that we sang in girl scouts as a round. Does anyone know the origins of the song lyrics below? Mr. Moon, Mr. Moon, You're out too soon, The sun is still in the sky. Go back to your bed and cover up your head, And wait till the day goes by. From out the shadowed bellfrey The owl's cry I hear, And from the distant forest The coo coo answers clear Coo Coo... Jeanne |

Mr Moon has been discussed, and you can probably find the old threads by using the search box thingy. A lot of the good old songs come up for discussion fairly often around here. The second part of Mr Moon that we sang went: Twas on a summer's evening we walked the forest through when suddenly we heard it a sweet and low cukoo (followed by a 'cukoo, cukoo cukookookoo kookoo' part) Have fun..there are quite a few scout type songs to be found here..
