Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 29 Feb 20 - 01:15 PM Mom? Can you recommend a good, secure padlock that won't freeze up in temperatures well below 0F, is cut proof for a 36 inch bolt cutter, doesn't rust or corrode, which can be keyed alike or better yet have different keys for each lock and a master key, and which costs less than USD 10.00 each? And they have to fit a variety of hasps and chains! Thank you, Mom. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 29 Feb 20 - 01:25 PM How many people you are shackling? |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: keberoxu Date: 29 Feb 20 - 02:02 PM Maybe not people. Maybe it's feral hogs ... |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 29 Feb 20 - 03:26 PM Mom's recommendation is that Rap abandons his search for the ideal padlock and simply booby-traps whatever he was planning on putting locks on. The old string-tied-to-a-12 gauge's-trigger thing works dependably well and provides endless opportunities for imaginative variation involving creative use of pulleys, springs, weights, clamps, etc. Or he could just spring for a pair of attack-trained Rottweilers. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 29 Feb 20 - 05:39 PM BWL you can put yourself in Rap's position of living out in the country when wandering bands of corona zombies are looking for shelter. You can't kill them and you can't risk exposure so locking them up humanely, letting them eat a lovely last spread in an abandoned shed and allowing the cold to do the rest is the obvious solution. If you have a better idea don't be selfish. I believe Rap is a genius. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 01 Mar 20 - 09:33 AM Left to my own ideas, I'd just use punji stakes -- heat treated for toughness and dipped in human poop. Maybe a barb on the insertion end. Or maybe one of those toe-popper land mines that just blow a leg off from the foot to the knee. But the people involved are wimps. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 01 Mar 20 - 10:22 AM Landmines did come to mind. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 01 Mar 20 - 10:41 AM But locks are more humane and cheaper. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 01 Mar 20 - 02:02 PM Or Rap could just move to Florida and let the natural fauna take care of whatever miscreants he needs to lock his stuff away from. We have the best variety of deadly mammals, reptiles, fish, and invertebrates of anyplace in North America. Better yet, move to Australia. They have so many deadly critters it makes Florida look like a petting zoo. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 01 Mar 20 - 10:00 PM Well, a pile of rattlesnakes makes folks out here think twice, assuming they're among the minority who CAN and/or DO think. I think a snake pit would be better than padlocks. I'd use Gluon but have no idea where/when/what that duckdog is. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Mar 20 - 12:11 AM I'm tired of the medications I have to sort through so have taken myself off of the narcotic stuff and have better results with the OTC variety. I don't care what MOM said about getting "the good stuff," it's not good if it doesn't work. I'm still weeks away from being allowed in the Legion Hovel with the other meds they have me taking, but I'll toss the Tylenol by the time my liver is allowed to become reacquainted with alcohol. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 02 Mar 20 - 08:06 AM The narcotic stuff is for using when and while you need it. If there's some left lock it away, you may need some later. When it's over you can keep it locked away for the next time (and there will, unfortunately, be a next time) or drop it off at the local Walgreen's or cop shop for safe disposal. As my dear old seanmathair used to say, "Chomh luath agus in féidir." |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 02 Mar 20 - 08:16 AM Most people do not know how toxic Tylenol is. Mixed with as littlr as a bottle of wine can kill a liver. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 02 Mar 20 - 09:29 AM Which one? |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 02 Mar 20 - 09:33 AM Scientists Who Should Know are saying that wiping your hands with a solution of about 70% alcohol is a good way to kill off that corona virus that's going around. I have a liter of 151 proof rum, and killing the virus that's gotten inside is a lot better than one the outside. So...I have to go disinfect and sanitize myself. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Stilly River Sage Date: 02 Mar 20 - 12:28 PM I overstated the relief from the OTC stuff; after a few hours the muscle pain set in, and trying the muscle relaxants didn't offer any help for it so I'm back on Oxy. Yes, I'm not happy about taking acetaminophen, but it's the only one allowed right now. You know that gimmick that always shows up in cop shows - they go to someone's house and ask to use the bathroom? I don't have a mirrored cabinet in my bathroom. Wouldn't do 'em a bit of good to go snooping in there. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 02 Mar 20 - 01:06 PM The most dangerous thing about prescription opioids isn't the risk of becoming addicted to the drugs themselves. It's that the constipation they cause can leave you addicted to laxatives, stool softeners, glycerin suppositories, and Fleet enemas. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 02 Mar 20 - 02:27 PM Its good you checked your tolerence now. You will know what you will be able to do on OTC aspercreme lidocaine and the equivalence of 3 aspirin when the time comes. The advantage you gain may only be a few days of light withdrawl as opposed to a week. A heavy withdrawl is 18 days and the strongest withdrawl is 30 days or more. Rap, achieving a 75.1 blood alcohol count is not recommended by the CDC but would be a world record beating Shane by 40 points on St. Patricks Day 1997. Goodbye Rosie, Queen of Corona, seein me and Julio down by the school yard. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 02 Mar 20 - 08:08 PM The most significant thing ever said here was that it is a persistantly stubborn illusion that the past present and future are different from one another. For this to be untrue the past would have to become unreal in the passing moment of now and the future would become no place to go since it does not exist yet. So time must exist as a fundamental whole with the only difference being the amount we are allowed to know about past present and future. Rap knows the past, I know more than usual about the future and BWL knows how crazy the present can be and SRS knows all 3. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 02 Mar 20 - 10:41 PM I believe six impossible things before breakfast, past, present, future, and other. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 03 Mar 20 - 06:04 AM Freudian slip or phase shift?- I said "untrue" instead of true. When I can not tell the difference between the two it may be an early sign I am moving from limited future sight to the Trump rip in the fabric of time truth which is a phase shift black hole of the quantum "other". In which case I should probably pull a Chris Matthews soon. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 03 Mar 20 - 08:54 AM Your typo is forgiven, Don. Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 03 Mar 20 - 11:33 AM My point precisely. There is no comprehensive cohesive or coherent plan for the markets or outbreak response except duck (dog) and cover. Why believe in anything anymore? So why believe nothing is the best policy? When the policy is nothing something seems too radical. The radical FED rate cut of 1/2 point to help corporations did nothing. The FED was never before used in a health emergency. something - nothing , true - untrue. Its like we all decided there is no such thing as choice. Just grin and bear it. "The opposite President can't possibly cause too much harm". Waiting for an election also turned out to be a big no choice nothing. The ghost of Claudius has awakened and let all the evil in the mud to hatch out. No government, no law, no fundamentals, no alternatives, no Noah's ark. On the other hand, Don't worry - be happy. Life is just a bowl of cherries. ya gotta spit the pits. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Stilly River Sage Date: 03 Mar 20 - 12:15 PM Thank goodness those awful circulation cuffs are out of my life. The damn things literally wore the hair off of my lower calves (why bother to shave before the bandage comes off, though perhaps the bandage will rip off the hair growing under it?) MOM is trying to figure out a way to do some adaptive reuse, maybe set up a system of tubes and manual pumps that the cuffs could be attached to and squeeze and pump a steady supply of booze or maybe some annoyingly viscous substance like ketchup from one location to another. |
Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 03 Mar 20 - 10:13 PM But...but...those were your best friends! Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 04 Mar 20 - 06:33 PM Knowing why and how they help can make them more reasonable. Their purpose is to stop clot formation and travel in the body. "i'm avoiding a stroke" is a better thought than "these god damn things are chaffing". The only thing I notice from my surgury today is the pressure bandage. That sucker is tight! No thick tissue except bone were cut. To have a more open mind, I had a reversable timpantion done by installing a plastic zipper over the vibe vent on my right occipital lobe. A lid over the timpanation/zipper is sewn in the back of several ball caps. If I ever want to close off my mind completely I just wear the thickest lid in the Red cap. The blue cap lets in 1/2 the vibes and the white cap is just a hat. To pick up vibes from the overlords I take off my hat unzip the vibe vent and aim my timpanation at Betelgeuse. |

Jeesh, what's a good athiest to do? Vibe prisms do work but are still too bulky/expensive to wear comfortably. btw The surgical intake male nurse was a real Mench in our free ranging conversation that went from; the best jokes to family survival experiences in Hitler Death camps, from XRAY Ted jokes to holocaust PTSD. Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Rapparee Date: 05 Mar 20 - 02:38 AM Freckles’ Advice Though Freckles is an angel now, he ain't forgot his friends. He drops to earth and hangs around behind the buckin' pens. He pulls a rope or just makes sure a rider gets bucked free. So I took it as an honor, the day he spoke to me... "I saw you ride your bull today. You sure did yourself proud. You had him by the short hairs, I could feel it in the crowd!" "I really should be thankful that I even stayed aboard. You could'a done it better, Freckles...I'm lucky that I scored!" "Hey don't be puttin' yourself down! You know you did okay. The time will come when you look back and hunger for today When everything was workin' right and judges liked your style, Your joints were smooth, your belly flat and girls liked your smile. "Cause in between the best you rode and the last one that you'll try You'll face your own mortality and look it in the eye. There ain't no shame admittin' you ain't what you used to be, The shame is blamin' Lady Luck when Father Time's the key! So if they know you came to ride and always did your best Then hang your ol' spurs up with pride, 'cause that's the acid test And, say some gunsel offers you a 'Geritol on Ice,' Just grin 'im down, 'cause you don't have to ride Tornado twice!" ©Baxter Black |

The d-star Hexiquark in configurations of six make up the atoms of Dark Matter. They are free to configure differently than regular quarks. As a Bose Einstien Condensate at the lowest possible temperature they clump together and concentrate their gravity. They will not interact with light or matter. Subject: RE: MOAB - Mother of All BS [annex] From: Donuel Date: 05 Mar 20 - 03:37 PM BWL the problem with LSD is that it quantizes time into tiny segments so that a sweeping motion is broken up into many stop and go moments. If you are the grand master of a symphony orchestra on acid, you just can't see the exact downbeat. What some people call 'trails' are anything but. One can even see the individual flickerings of a flouresent bulb. Time gets too tiny to use for our macro world. No such problems with organic mushrooms. |

I was able to walk in any ol' dopey way before, now I need to watch my posture, change weight from one side to the other, and unlearn bad habits from when the knee was full of bone spurs. It seems the best way to see if I'm ready to drive is to take a short run. We discussed a drive to city hall, six blocks from here. The challenge is to see if anyone wants to be in the passenger seat with me. MOM will do it, but she doesn't drive, so if we had to stop and change places we'd end up walking back to the house instead.
