Excuse the thread creep, but in relation to the supremely wealthy of the earth, we all remain, workers and peasants, even those with 6 figure incomes. IMHO. --Larry C.

"Workers, peasants are we all," is from a translation of "L'Internationale," written in 1871 by Eugene Pottier.

Eugene,
"Workers, peasants are we all." You must be joking. My "peasant" ancestors worked their butts off so that I and the other members of the family could have a better life than they suffered. The "Good Old Days" ? So much crap.

We all hope that Pete Seeger has a speedy recovery from his bout with Lyme Disease.

But addressing him directly in this forum makes you look silly. Pete does not read Mudcat discussions. He does not surf the web.

If you want to direct messages to him, you can do so through the Clearwater or Sing Out Folk Song Magazine offices. They pass messages on to him.

"Workers, peasants are we all."

Pete, I'll never forget your concert in "The National" in Dublin back about '67 ? was it. Your albums are still dusted off on a regular basis in my place. Get well soon.

To be pedantic, it's "Lyme Disease," not "Lyme's" It's named after Old Lyme, Connecticut. In the initial stage, it's easily cured with a bit of tetracycline. The first symptoms can include a peculiar rash and those similar to the flu. Weeks or months later, more severe symptoms can develop.

This is actually the second report on this here at Mudcat. Wesley also found an article in his paper and posted about it in the thread regarding what Seeger CD would be the best to buy. According to Wesley's article, it is the less virulent form.

Pete always has my best thoughts. Tremendous human being.

Saw a very small article tucked away in the middle of a newspaper that said that Pete Seeger, 81, has contracted Lyme's Disease although the severity of his case is not known, according to his wife, Toshi.

I know all mudcatters, as well as myself, wish Pete a very speedy recovery. Hope you all post here to send Pete your get well wishes.

Get well soon, Pete! Thanks for all your music for so many years.
