Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: beardedbruce Date: 09 Oct 05 - 12:28 PM Bobert, "Like what was that about anyway... I never got it..." I agree with this statement of yours- You never did get it... Nor did you ever try to find out. Sinsull, I will get the ginger there because I said I would have it available. I may or may not make it there, myself- But I will leave the boxes sealed so that you will have some confidence in them. Long story, but if I am "unemployed" I have to be at work whenever they want me to work, (to fill in)- when I am "employed" I get a fixed schedule and can arrange time off. It looks like I may get some leverage, since I am working this weekend. If the s/c is in good shape, and I can get out of town before they need me to work again, I should be there Friday afternoon. I would offer rides, but there is some chance I would eiher not make it at all, or have to leave early. |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Big Mick Date: 12 Oct 05 - 06:43 PM I am starting to be afraid. I think I might have to work this weekend. Or maybe attend a funeral. Or did I have to stop and help out a dear friend in need? Take the dog to the vet? I normally don't carry weapons to these things, but I thinking this is the year ........ relax, I am just kidding. It ain't right, you people are making my stomach hurt. And involving MaryLou in this was low. Have you no shame??????? And just remember this, as you plan your devious and sadistic rituals. Irishmen don't get even ...... they get ahead. Kendall .... you got to help me out here. Kendall? Amos? Bruce? Skarpi? George? ......... C'MON GUYS, A LITTLE ASSISTANCE HERE. IF WE HANG TOGETHER .........It's a helluva lot easier organizing unions, and taking the occasional ass whuppin', night in jail, than it is to get youse layabouts to stand against these maniacal she devils ...... Shit ........... I am well and truly screwed. Probably won't even get the first friggin kiss out of the deal. Mick |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Ferrara Date: 13 Oct 05 - 11:28 AM Bruce, I hope you mean hanged. |
Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: beardedbruce Date: 13 Oct 05 - 11:42 AM hung- Equivalent to wedged, but more common at Unix/C sites. ... Synonym with locked up, wedged; compare hosed. See also hang. A hung state is distinguished from crashed or down, where the program or system is also unusable but because it is not running rather than because it is waiting for something. However, the recovery from both situations is often the same. |

Subject: RE: Getaway 2005 (14-17 Oct ) From: Ferrara Date: 13 Oct 05 - 02:54 PM The official start time is 4 pm. If you're planning to help set up tables, set out chairs, etc, I guess you can arrive around 3:30 but your cabin and room assignments may not be ready by then. Don't park in front of the dumpster at the Dining Hall, the Camp gets grumpy if they can't get to it, and rightly so.... park a bit farther away, on either side of the road, until you have your cabin assignment. |

I was the first and only one for a bit more than two hours. It was okay. It gave me plenty of time to put the finishing touches on my gumbo. This year I plan to be there at least a half an hour later than that. |
