What's with the 'soap' thing? In Ambridge we call it a 'fly on the wall' documentary. I wouldn't sign up to it myself as I didn't want my private life be known by the public. They tried all ways to persuade me, me being one of the village characters, and they only stopped pestering me when I threatened to quit the village for ever, never to return. Some folks in the village however have no shame and will do anything to escape the 'tedium of village life' as they see it. We call them 'the luvvies'.

I remember hearing something about the Archers years ago. Don't recall the context and perhaps I am mis-rembering, but I don't think so. How many radio soaps can there be that were started as aids to farmers? I would think not many.

Yes KB, Ambridge in Borcetshire, England - just around the corner from The Bull, the village pub. Did you know there is a Pennsylvania in England? It's in Gloucestershire and I've driven through it a number of times over the years.

Guess what Peace? Guess what KB? Guess what what, what, what?? Guess what Mudcatters all? You'll never guess who I've met this very evening in person, eye to eye and face to face. Go on guess (Emma B, you're not allowed to guess). I met this person at a Mudcat gathering, at a festival in a place the local's call 'Bedearth' in middle England. It was my first Mudcat meet. I TRIED to be normal, I really did, but I'm not sure how convincing I was. They asked me what my name was, I said "I was there at the beginning man, but you can call me IWTATBM if you like". They looked at me suspicious. They asked me where I was from, I said "Ambridge". They looked at me suspicious and in a way that suggested I didn't swim in reality's pond. I did try though and I pushed the 85 billion thread for all its worth. I pushed it so hard that we can expect at least 1000 extra posts by the end of the week. You'll see.
