I rescued an upside down horseshoe crab last week, the one-flowered wintergreen is in bloom, and we still have a gazillion ladyslippers. And osprey chicks. We have hatchout! Yay!

I'm cat-sitting at a friend's house while my own is being ransacked by it's former tenant who left all his crap with us for a decade.

The cat is staring at the rain out the window, and I'm feeling glad to have such good friends who'll take me in while chaos reigns at home.

My cats are staring out at all the other cats in the neighborhood. Caitlin is hurling threats and insults, knowing that she's safe inside, and Go-Go is warbling away at absolutely nothing at all, in her elderly, Alzheimer kitty way. Clancy Dog, on the other hand, is having a mid-morning nap after his morning romp/sniff/swim on at the beach. And he NEVER yells insults out the window at other animals, people or annoying landlords. Definitely the least annoying and best behaved of the three pets.

I just may have to adopt this damn peacock. This is the third time this week he's spent the night in my driveway. I don't know why he's decided to go it alone from the neighborhood about a mile away that had 40-50 peacocks and hens. But hey - I'm a single guy who's not really interested in dating right now either, so what the hell.

So what's a good name for a peacock?

If you've asked the peacock what it's name is, and it answers, then you'll know. If it only screams at you in that really annoyingly shrill peacock way, then it's an indication that you need to mind your own business...

Or name it Fluffy and piss the hell out of it.

Just my opinion of course....I'm really only here because ranger1 pm'd me and said I had to hang around and not let ted el get the 1000th post.
