The bond and other pre-negotiated conditions of Trump’s release will allow him to be quickly processed when he turns himself in at the Fulton County jail Thursday evening.

The gang of 18 have been surrendering and posting bail in Georgia this week, with Trump heading in on Thursday. There is a GOP "debate" this evening that I don't intend to watch, and I won't watch Trump's interview either.

The discussion that is picking up momentum is the way in which the Fourteenth Amendment may be applied to the upcoming election. It doesn't say "after due process" anyone who has sworn to uphold the Constitution who participates in an insurrection such as January 6 is ineligible to hold office. But how to exclude them? It may come down to states attorneys general simply not allowing their names on ballots. Trouble is, there are some who will play tit for tat and try to do the same to Biden with no cause. So - tread carefully, and hope he negotiates his freedom by promising never to run for office again.

A majority of Iowa voters weren't polled. Only a fraction of GOP voters. That is a small subset of Iowa voters, and I have a couple of friends up there who would be quick to tell you that no one asked them what they thought.

Article 3 of the 14th Amendment renders Trump ineligible to run for any office. A state AG would have to declare Trump can not be on his state's ballot and when Trump sued it would go to the Supreme Court.
The language is unambiguous and only leaves the enforcement in question. Much of the Constitution is written with a broad brush but not the 14th Amendment.

Trump's defense wants to make his speech and actions political but they are not political in State or Constitutional law.

I'm back from my 36th anniversary dinner. My wife is shooting for 50 but I probably won't remember who Trump was on my 50th anniversary.

That story also states that 42% of caucus goers polled have indicated support. Those are GOP caucus goers, and a percentage were polled and there is always a margin of error. In case you were thinking of blowing that up into the whole state of Iowa population again.

There was an article on the Web some years ago about some picture-mutating AI stunt, where a group took certain politicians' pictures, and imposed on them a particular horror magazine's drawing style. The one of Theresa May proved their point; what surprised me was that with the one they did of The Donald, I couldn't tell the difference from how he normally looks.

Yesterday I stumbled upon content for an individual who is liberal on environmental issues but contrarily conservative on politics. The content of his social media accounts is off-putting, and I noticed yesterday there is a four-plus minute screed going around with Trump announcing that as soon as he's re-elected he'll appoint a special council to investigate Biden for all of his election shenanigans. Trump telegraphs to the world what he's doing by accusing his opponents of the same thing.

With my imagination, I can see another high tech coup with Russain help using AI Deep fakes and network and cable hacking.
The hacking of the cable networks is the easy part. With my own eyes I have seen C-Span hacked by Russians 8 years ago.

But putting Mission Impossible scenarios aside, Trump will become more of a joke and less of a martyr as time goes on.

Not sure what the earlier document was. I suspect someone in the clerk's office got ahead of things. A reporter in the brief press conference last night asked Willis about it, said it was identical. Willis said she doesn't know about the functioning of the website in the clerk's office and wasn't going to try to answer that question. Someone may have been testing putting up the document in anticipation of the outcome later that evening (I suspect the first version wasn't signed yet?)

It's true I was out ahead of the Trump saga but so were Bill Mahre and many others.
The open-mouth predictions were called an obsession by the usual subjects but the volume was 11 and what I saw coming was a tornado of con men and sharks. A sharkconado.

At this point, the Trump legal team will need 4 hits in a row which ain't easy. What remains to be seen is a sentence of house arrest or jail. A violent narcissist requires others to do violence on his behalf. There is bound to be another Rittenhouse out there who may affect the election in the worst way.

Trump no longer has control of the levers of power so the mob is all he has left. he has to threaten and intimidate. The mean American rhetoric has gone from libtard to I'm coming for you and I'M GOING TO SLIT THEIR THROAT.

Fani Willis is moving quickly today; a witness (journalist) originally subpoenaed for tomorrow morning was brought in this afternoon instead. And Trump is making statements about who should or shouldn't testify. The former LT. Governor is called for tomorrow. Sounds like he has some real dirt on Trump.

Trump might not be able to get bail in Georgia. The rules say a defendant can get bail only if they aren’t a risk to intimidate witnesses or obstruct justice.

Two separate parties indicated on Saturday news shows that they have subpoenas requiring their Grand Jury testimony appearances on Tuesday morning. There are general notifications of an upcoming appearance and then there is the one telling them when or where that is issued 48 hours ahead (or two working days).
