With five others she pledged to support Trump's candidacy, if he's nominated, even if he's been convicted of a felony. Hutchinson and Christie were the only ones to say Trump is, was, and ever will be unfit to be president. Now that's normal. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Aug 23 - 02:00 PM That was a general conclusion on MSNBC also. As awful as she is, she's "normal." Meanwhile, when considering the occupants of the Trump clown car, here's a look back at Giuliani's aspirations. There's a financial newsletter I subscribe to that comes up with interesting insights into politics and financial topics (usually intertwined). From last week: Giuliani Was in the Running to Be Trump’s Attorney General. His Authoritarian Rule as Mayor Suggests a Nightmare Outcome American democracy is in a slow death gurgle from the repetition of Orwellian reverse-speak slogans: “Make America Great Again,” “Save America,” “Drain the Swamp,” and “America’s Mayor.” Read the rest at the link. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Ebbie Date: 24 Aug 23 - 12:58 PM I did watch the GOP frontrunners' debate. It was a children's play yard. Although she is not one I'd vote for, given an alternative, the one person who came across as 'normal' was Nikki Haley. |

Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Aug 23 - 12:25 PM Trump has swapped horses mid-stream. He just replaced his original Georgia lawyer with someone who has experience challenging Georgia's RICO law. Trump replaces top Georgia lawyer ahead of surrender A Trump source indicated that this was not about Findling’s performance, while another familiar with Sadow called him the “best criminal defense attorney in Georgia.” Trump’s other Georgia attorney, Jennifer Little, is expected to stay on the legal team and work with Sadow. He can criticise the RICO law all he wants, but chances are he can't do anything about it. Days before Trump revamped his legal team, Findling and his partner Marissa Goldberg, along with Little, met with Willis to hash out a $200,000 bond for Trump. The bond and other pre-negotiated conditions of Trump’s release will allow him to be quickly processed when he turns himself in at the Fulton County jail Thursday evening. Aha! A primetime surrender. |

Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 23 Aug 23 - 07:36 PM The gang of 18 have been surrendering and posting bail in Georgia this week, with Trump heading in on Thursday. There is a GOP "debate" this evening that I don't intend to watch, and I won't watch Trump's interview either. The discussion that is picking up momentum is the way in which the Fourteenth Amendment may be applied to the upcoming election. It doesn't say "after due process" anyone who has sworn to uphold the Constitution who participates in an insurrection such as January 6 is ineligible to hold office. But how to exclude them? It may come down to states attorneys general simply not allowing their names on ballots. Trouble is, there are some who will play tit for tat and try to do the same to Biden with no cause. So - tread carefully, and hope he negotiates his freedom by promising never to run for office again. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Backwoodsman Date: 23 Aug 23 - 02:25 AM Which just demonstrates the deliberate deceit in the statement ‘Iowa voters think…’. I tend to take most of the things I read in the media and the press with a sizeable pinch of salt. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 23 Aug 23 - 12:53 AM I would interpret the statement “Iowa voters think…” to mean “[A majority of] Iowa voters think…]. Seems fairly common sense to me. A majority of Iowa voters weren't polled. Only a fraction of GOP voters. That is a small subset of Iowa voters, and I have a couple of friends up there who would be quick to tell you that no one asked them what they thought. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 23 Aug 23 - 12:49 AM The 14th Amendment is what is going to, in the end, eliminate Trump from the race. |
Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Donuel Date: 22 Aug 23 - 07:37 PM Article 3 of the 14th Amendment renders Trump ineligible to run for any office. A state AG would have to declare Trump can not be on his state's ballot and when Trump sued it would go to the Supreme Court. The language is unambiguous and only leaves the enforcement in question. Much of the Constitution is written with a broad brush but not the 14th Amendment. Trump's defense wants to make his speech and actions political but they are not political in State or Constitutional law. I'm back from my 36th anniversary dinner. My wife is shooting for 50 but I probably won't remember who Trump was on my 50th anniversary. |

Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 22 Aug 23 - 11:18 AM Yes, Steve, every single person in Iowa expressed an opinion to the poll takers and every single one supported Trump. [not] Will you stop picking arguments where everyone understood what was said but you need to make it absurd? Trump was told he can't break the law (including make threats over social media). Trump's bond set at $200,000 in Georgia case, warned about social media threats A Fulton County judge has set former President Donald Trump's bond at $200,000 in District Attorney Fani Willis' election interference case. That story also states that 42% of caucus goers polled have indicated support. Those are GOP caucus goers, and a percentage were polled and there is always a margin of error. In case you were thinking of blowing that up into the whole state of Iowa population again. |

If Donald breaks his $200,000 bail rules he might be held there. |

Well I'm a Cornish voter and I didn't vote for brexit. Not a brush I want to be tarred with, and I imagine that plenty of voters in Iowa would object to the characterisation of them presented here. Subject: RE: BS: Trump INDICTED AGAIN x4 (NO new Trmp threads) From: Lighter Date: 22 Aug 23 - 10:11 AM Let's not quibble. I've been told often that Biden is both a "Marxist" and "demented. The guy's senile! He can't strong two sentences together!" As for Jesus, a local columnist asked whether it was coincidental that Trump's first indictment came during Holy Week. Now I see that it's actually a thing: https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-arraignment-jesus-christ-conspiracy-theory-670c45bd71b3466dcd6e8e188badcd1d In 2016 heard two women independently liken Trump to God (yes, that was the word they used). Asked what she thought of Donald Trump just last week, an Iowa voter said, "Trump is everything! There's God." She raised a hand above her head. "And there's Trump." She gestured about two inches lower. And, as they say, now this: "In the CBS News/YouGov survey, Trump voters were asked to pick who they feel tells them the truth. Trump gathered 71 percent of the vote, friends and family gathered 63 percent, conservative media figures had 56 percent, and religious leaders gathered 42 percent. The poll was conducted between August 16-18 and interviewed 2,061 U.S. adult residents. The margin of error is plus or minus 3 points for the sample overall." https://www.newsweek.com/trump-voters-trust-ex-president-more-their-family-friends-poll-1821138 It's concerning. |

The open-mouth predictions were called an obsession by the usual subjects but the volume was 11 and what I saw coming was a tornado of con men and sharks. A sharkconado. At this point, the Trump legal team will need 4 hits in a row which ain't easy. What remains to be seen is a sentence of house arrest or jail. A violent narcissist requires others to do violence on his behalf. There is bound to be another Rittenhouse out there who may affect the election in the worst way. Trump no longer has control of the levers of power so the mob is all he has left. he has to threaten and intimidate. The mean American rhetoric has gone from libtard to I'm coming for you and I'M GOING TO SLIT THEIR THROAT. Another thing that ain't easy is running for President from home with an ankle bracelet. |
