Subject: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: Amos Date: 01 Nov 02 - 12:01 PM We are approaching the home stretch! Sorcha has done truly yeoman work tracking down any clouds on the permissions front and the Orchid DIsk has been remastered as required and the play list sent to our own Arts volunteer, michaelR. I am aiming if at all possible to have all the remastering done on the disks this weekend except for one which awaits a late submission due to a permissions conflict. As mentioned earlier in these endless threads, based on a bright idea from WYSAWYG, I propose to start one thread for each of the Mudcat CD Series and post the playlist at the top of it. The artists will then add whatever lyrics or liner notes they wish to add about their songs on that disk. Some of these have interesting stories to them! The actual inserts willl have playlist and any copyright information as needed. Okay with everyone??? Thanks, gang. Amos |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: greg stephens Date: 01 Nov 02 - 12:06 PM If the info on the liner notes is being chopped down to a bare minimum, in favour of Mudcat thread inserts, how much will Joe Public find out about the music if he/she is not a Mudcat computer nerd like us? |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: MMario Date: 01 Nov 02 - 12:09 PM greg - I think it is partially because the most economical and *do-able* inserts are going to end up as bare-boned anyway. |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: Sorcha Date: 01 Nov 02 - 12:09 PM I'm assuming that not too many people other than Catters, or Catter's friends, are going to end up with this. If a Catter gets one for a friend, said Catter can print the liner notes...... |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: Art Thieme Date: 01 Nov 02 - 12:15 PM Amos, These, bein' out before Christmas, is simply the best--cool as all hell and commendable beyond belief. You have solved a ton of problems for me---not the least of which these days was how to physically get out and deal with the snows of December that impede gift shopping around Northern Illinois. Many people will be happily surprised. Art |

Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD X: Dappled Rising Morning From: michaelr Date: 02 Nov 02 - 07:25 PM Calling all contributors to the Mudcat CD sampler set! Amos has provided me with the track listing for the first two installments, and I'm getting ready to put together the artwork (read: typesetting) for the cover. This is your chance to finalize the info which will appear on the CD cover. You can opt to have just your Mudcat handle printed, or add your real name, or the name of your band. If you haven't already let Amos know your preference, PLEASE PM ME ASAP! You can also opt to have the URL for your website or your e-mail address printed. Here, as an example, is what my entry will look like: 13. The Blacksmith (trad.) Greenhouse (michaelr) www.celticfusion.org Since we're entering the actual production phase, I'll need you to respond quickly. If I don't hear from you, I will use the information as provided to Amos. Cheers, Michael |
