Subject: RE: BS: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST,Guest in germany Date: 19 Oct 08 - 12:07 PM Hello, now we have more than 3 years later. Today I looked in the internet for 'Instrumentos Commarin'. And I found this here. I guess I have the same guitar: small body, inside the two names 'Commarin' and 'Commerimsa', the address you wrote above, with a spanish man and a woman dancing. I don't use this guitar much, I have it all along from the seventies, someone gave it to me. Maybe you should go tho Madrid in the Sagasta 11 to know more.... |

Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST Date: 02 Aug 09 - 07:08 AM I think I know a part of the story. COMERIMSA was a company based in MAdrid with offices in Sagasta Street and also in Fuencarral 101 st. Comerimsa meaning was COMERcial de Intercambios Mundiales Sociedad Anonima. They had 5 or 6 divisions. Division number 5 was musical instruments. The object of COMERIMSA was trade with former East countries (DDR, Poland, Czeck...) exchanging products. In Spain it was not allow to import or to export products from or to these countries. So COMERIMSA put in conection companies from Spain with the Goverments of the DDR, Poland, etc, etc in order ro "exchange" products. I'm very sorry because my English is not good enought. The guitar could be a guitar made in DDR or in CZECK before 1992. The sticker with COMERIMSA name inside is because at the end of COMERIMSA'S days, COMERIMSA sold directly some products to music shops. If you like to know more please contact me at jmgm2008@gmail.com regards from madrid |

Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST Date: 12 Dec 17 - 08:46 PM Zero Nada Hullo Given, an entire symphony beneath ten fingers, it is hard for me to imagine the guitar/banjo/uke surviving beyond 2025. Sincerely, Gargoyle . Of course I am not speaking regarding the weird UK paraxolisms..... |
Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST Date: 25 Sep 19 - 10:02 PM Hey I also own one of these guitars. I picked it up from a pile of rubbish in Sassafras ,Melbourne, in the ‘90’s. A couple of elderly “spinsters “ who had travelled extensively in their younger days had thrown it out. I had to file down the frets to make it more playable. It has a lovely warm and mellow tone. |
Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST,Ian V Date: 09 May 20 - 11:29 AM I have one of these beautiful little guitars as well. It was my Mothers, so is at least 50-60 years old. It has had its lovely wooden binding refitted and also is about to do in to repair a crack in the rear of it. It has a lot of sentimental, but I am guessing not a lot of actual value. Nice to read some more about it. Cheers Ian |
Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST,Tom Craft Date: 19 Aug 20 - 05:08 PM I have one of these (similarly) purchased by my Mom in the 60's. It was a used instrument then so I'm guessing built in the 40's or 50's. It would be nice to know more. The soundhole is surrounded my little inlays of painted wood. It's a quiet guitar but it has a nice warm even tone. I like the stylized label inside with the silhouetted flamenco dancers. |
Subject: RE: Instrumentos Commarin From: GUEST Date: 18 Nov 21 - 02:48 PM hi, i bought it in chile, very cheap and one expert noted the excellent sound. It has a hazel back, and is a typical flamenco bright guitar. |
