Have worked a system for counting.

1. Open the whole thread and copy all the posters at the top of thread.
2. Paste this into Word
3. Search for a name, selecting 'highlight all'.
4. Copy this and paste it into a new document and do a word count.

Have just done a few names and discovered I am not poster of the Year 2006. Seems as though KB may have been genuine after all - always thought so.

The recount will be done by a corporate entity, same as Florida. The system is fool proof (but not damned fool proof). Expext results in a few months.

Before I congratulate you on being Poster of the Year KB I demand a recount. It's all too easy for the counter of posts to claim to be Poster of the Year. In fact I have just had a bit of a count myself and it would seem that I am, in fact, Poster of the Year 2006. Who are the mathematicians on this thread? Remember this is Poster of the Year 2006 and therefore only posts up to 30 December can be included. This is becoming a saga and it's not over yet.

(I must confess that I could only get my logarithm to count posts that had "KB" in the "From" field but I think the result is still fair and accurate.)

Has ANYONE lifted a finger to research who was Poster of the Year 2006? Sometimes I think you're all a very lazy bunch. Being Poster of the Year will be an important thing in centuries to come and it will look bad on the founding posters if we didn't even acknowledge it. KB are you still counting or did you give up? Would Jo Offer or Max be able to click a button and find out instantly or what? Does anyone know anything about how to do this? Do historic moments mean nothing to any of you? I'd count the numbers myself but I've been ill you see.

But Holy Flip. I picked up a lotta flippin' trash today, eh? And the worst flippin' part is this....some of it was MY OWN TRASH!!! From, like, a half a year ago, eh? I dumped a lotta stuff out on the side of the flippin' road from Don's pickup cos it was stuff I did not need, and guess flippin' what? I had to pick it back up today! Jeezus flippin' H Christ! Hey! I'm out, eh? They let me out on approbashion and I hafta do some community work. Geez! I hate work. Man, do I ever flippin' hate it! But I gotta go pick up trash and stuff. What a flippin' drag! The worst flippin' part is that all my buddies are gonna laff at me forever over this.

So I thought I had this great idea, eh? There was a thread on Muccat awhile back not too flippin' long ago and it was about a scam where you, like, go aroudn door to door and pretend you are doin' a govenmemnet survey, eh? And if a woman opens the door you say that she has to show you her bazongas for the survey! I read that and I thought..."This could work!" So I went out and tried it. First I tried in Blind River, but too many people know me there already so it wasn't goin' good. I got a lotta rejeckshions and once nearly got punched out.

So then I wised up and went to the big city. Sudbury. People are real easy to fool in Sudbury, eh? Cos they, like, get drunk a lot there.

So I'm workin' my way down the street from, like, house to flippin' house and tryin' out my act but no one is showin' me her bazongas. Not one! I couldn't hardly believe my bad luck, eh?

And then I got arrested. Someone called the flippin' cops on me. There are a lotta people out there who are mean and flippin' spitful and they don't mind at all to mess up the day for someone like me, eh? They are jealous cos I look so good and I'm still young.

They chareged me with sexual harassment!!! And bein' a public nuisance. I don't mind bein' charged with bein' a pubic nuisance because I am one and I KNOW that, but sexual harassment????

Holy flip. There was 16 women what came forward and indentified me as a fippin' sexual harrasser! I was flippin' dead dog humiliated! What the flip is a guy like me who is young, strong, and hung like a flippin' moose supposed to do in his spare time, eh? I don't call it hareassment I call it appresiation!

I don't believe the flippin' justice system we got nowadays. It is totally flipped up and gone to hell.

So I gotta pick up trash for the next 6 weeks. Holy flip.

What did I ever do to deserve this?

How do we know which KB you were KB? If two KBs were posting here this will have affected your number count. You may have to be disqualified unless you can provide firm evidence that you were ALL KB posts. I'm sorry to be ruthless but Poster of the Year 2006 is at stake here. Interesting that. When I checked the posts I discovered that there was a parallel "GUEST, KB". This person posts seldom and never in the 85 Billion thread (I would definitely have noticed that) so it is not germaine to this discussion so why did I bring it up? Hmm...   mutters and walks off.

Well, you can always click on the member name and all the posts made are displayed. I think you would still have to count them maually though. Plus, folks like you (IWTATBM) and I would appear to have fewer posts than we did seeing as how we posted for quite some time as GUEST, xxxx. I think I will keep working on my logarithm, it seems less labor (or labour, if you will) intensive.

BTW IWTATBM, I was shocked to see that your first post as a member was not to this thread. If it were anyone else this would almost make me question your loyalty to the cause. You have shown your colo(u)rs enough times that I can rest easy, but still...

I meant number of posters based on quantity of course. Quality is too subjective and I'd win every time! I have a feeling the results may not be as predicted. Is there an easy way of counting individual posts on threads; at the click of a button so to speak? Until I find out there isn't I'm holding back from manual labour. We could have 'poster of the month/year' awards. Yes, what I want to know is who was poster of the year 2006? Then 2nd, then 3rd. I bet MOAB haven't done this. Another 1st for the 85 billion thread.

Sorry my previous post wasn't a bit more erudite, but he who spends a lot of time composing a witty message attempting to make post number 1111 often winds up embarassing himself by claiming post number 1111 while actually making post number 1117 instead.

If time had permitted, I would have written an ode to post number 1111 or, perhaps, baked it a cake.

I have a logarithm worked up but it is only accurate out to six decimal places. I don't think that is good enough for a thread like this. I don't want to provide an answer unless I can be positive it is correct. I'll get back to you.

Hey IWTITMM, I think for right now as long as you are who you are you are fine. It is when you are not anyone at all that you are not.

Why not just join? I did and found the procedure to be relatively painless.
