Subject: Mudcat member (&Mudcat) CDs - exchange or gift From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Apr 26 - 11:54 AM A post turned up on the Facebook page that I'm redirecting here: Is anyone interested in this collection of songs by members of Mudcat? The cd set was produced by Dick Greenhaus, Barrie Mathers, Carole Etherton and Michael Rofkar in 2011 and each cd has 20 or more songs by mudcatters. This is from Mudcat member Barbara Shaw. If Joe can link up the various threads to do with Mudcat CDs you'll see (if you're relatively new to the site) that there was a period when a number of CDs were produced by Mudcat members who donated songs for each disk. There are also a lot of Mudcat members who have separately produced their own disks that get mentioned in those threads. This looks like it could be a great time to examine your collection and see if there's anything you want to share or if you're looking to obtain something you're missing. Here are a few past threads on the subject, and each of them has links to related threads at the top. Mudcat CD Artists Wanted - 'Catters with CDs Final Mudcat CD liner notes |

Maeve has asked first for Water and Until the Dark Time Ends. cnd is interested in the collection. Do you still want the remaining 3 or is it all or nothing? |

Subject: RE: Mudcat member (&Mudcat) CDs - exchange or gift From: maeve Date: 08 Apr 26 - 07:49 PM Barbara, it's a kind gesture to offer them. I would be content to have just the two for the friend I mentioned to you, but if cnd doesn't have any of them yet I'll step back. |

Subject: RE: Mudcat member (&Mudcat) CDs - exchange or gift From: cnd Date: 08 Apr 26 - 08:29 PM Hey Barbara, sorry for the delay... I've sent you a PM I'm find with anything from one to none -- I wasn't around on Mudcat when these CDs were first put out, so I thought it would be a neat window into the website's yesteryears. I know maeve is one of the site's old guard and likely knew several of the musicians, so I'm happy to take just a portion. Even if the collection gets split physically, we could work out an arrangement to share the content digitally. |

Subject: RE: Mudcat member (&Mudcat) CDs - exchange or gift From: Barbara Shaw Date: 09 Apr 26 - 10:56 AM Now I’m kicking myself for not checking Mudcat sooner. I’ve been cleaning out my huge collection of cds and sent about 50 to some folkie friends in Florida. Several were Mudcat cds and by Mudcat members from the old days. These latest 5 were just found in an unexpected corner. Although the FL friends are appreciating the music, they were never Mudcatters. I would have offered them to Mudcat first had I thought of it. (Been addicted to Facebook for many years. The graphics sucked me in). Anyway, I’m quite a bit slowed down waiting for a total knee replacement, but I’ll get those 5 sent to Maeve and cnd eventually! |

Subject: RE: Mudcat member (&Mudcat) CDs - exchange or gift From: Stilly River Sage Date: 09 Apr 26 - 11:52 AM Barbara, welcome to the knee replacement club! It made a big difference for me (had both done, a couple of years apart). Afterward I was able to return to some of the dance activity that I missed for a while. If you have any dance music CDs that you used in the past, hold onto those for a possibly renewed activity! I spotted several Jed Marum CDs at Goodwill one time, and hoped someone bought them (I already had them). But I should have thought of picking them up to offer on Mudcat, they were only a couple of dollars apiece there and mailing is inexpensive (media mail). |
