Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 28 Aug 04 - 05:52 AM 8th of 175... Sonnet 19/05/01 DLIV I see in you a surplus of concern, That all becomes your worry, and you bear Too much of heartache. Does not caring earn A place within my heart? Can I not care? I see in you a soul that dreams, yet gives Far more to others than perhaps you should. Can you not hold some part, that your dream lives In more than mind? Must future remain 'could'? I see in you a reason to have faith, That hope exists within this world, to hold Out dreams of finding one to be the lathe To anchor kindness, and to heart's hope mold. I see within, but wish to look in eyes, That I might know how human angel flies. |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 28 Aug 04 - 06:10 AM Blackcatter: No, to the names you asked about. I had posted her website here, earlier. "Do tell! I doubt I've ever met someone how has their own muse. Is she pretty? Can she hold her own drinking beer?" Many of us have muses- the question is whether we recognize their contribution to our creative process. Yes, I think that she is pretty, but have no idea if she can hold her own drinking beer- as I have not had any alcohol since Nov 1991, that has never come up in conversation. Any other questions? |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 28 Aug 04 - 06:29 AM BTW, check out "Lives of the Muses" by Prose. An interesting look at muses and their effect on creative people. |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 28 Aug 04 - 07:28 AM I can't resist grabbing this post. A lucky number. Working on having a workshop at the Getaway on "Care and feeding of Muses", (from the thread of that name) about how to try to find inspiration- ginger and Reese's PB cups to be provided for the first 100 people or so.... All comments welcome, either there, or here. ( far or near?)... |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 29 Aug 04 - 06:37 AM 9th of 175... Sonnet 19/05/01 DLV And how long have I waited, for my muse To offer me the words to share my heart? What words might I send, that she not refuse To send me further whispers that dreams start? How shall I tell her that the thought of smile Gives me reason to write? I need to know My words will bring some thought. I do not file Writings away, to gather dust, but show My feelings to the world. I can but pray That someone shares my dreams. To know you read Without disdain gives me the hope to say My inner hopes: I feel you feel my need. I cannot ask you to be all I dream: Yet as you are, you more than magic seem. |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: Blackcatter Date: 30 Aug 04 - 11:09 AM Well, Guess what folks. Unless no one posts after me, I will not be the last poster on this thread. That's because I'm calling it quits. I'm not posting "below the bar" anymore. It has been made clear to me that I'm an awful person (both in regular posts and in PMs). Since I'm not, obviously something's wrong. The BS section appears to bring out the worst in me, so screw it. I'll visit occasionally to look at the music threads and will post there when I have something to contribute, and since that only happens a couple times a week, I'll probably fade away. I've only posted this in this thread, because it's more likely that people involved in this thread may be the one's who will notice my absence and wonder. I don't want to make this a cause celeb, but I doubt it will be. I've been a member of Mudcat for just under 5 years. Oddly eoungh, it's mostly new people who have driven me off. Frankly I don't care. Goodby all. |

Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 01 Sep 04 - 06:28 AM Blackcatter, Sorry to hear about your decision. You will be missed. ( But I will try to help the miss get over it...) 10th of 175... Sonnet 22/05/01 DLVII How might I be your friend, to offer smile And show I care, and understand? What lines Will tell of true concern? What is the style, To prove I mean my words? Are my dreams signs That I seek more? I'll not desire deny, But seek for friendship. Your words touch my heart, And I would shelter you from harm, or try: Yet words without action are but a start. I cannot think that I will sunrise share, Save at this distance: The arm that I'd hold Around you does not reach. Yet I will care About you; Without touch, heart has hopes told. If you know how I might my caring show, I beg of you to tell me: Let me know. |

Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 02 Sep 04 - 06:03 AM 11th of 175... Sonnet 29/05/01 DLXI Do you hear caring in my words of rhyme? Do I reach out to hold your feelings? Tell Me if I touch your heart, or waste my time. Is heart to dream of Heaven, or of Hell? Can you feel all my hopes, or see the dreams That dwell inside of me? How can I hold To heart's desire, at such a distance? Schemes To steal your heart are better left untold. I send my words, and you send back to me Both dreams and future verse: Can I not care For one who gives so much of self? I see How others don't see you, and your hopes wear. I cannot help but love you: Not in lust, But for smile, words, and caring: This I trust. |

Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: 42 Date: 02 Sep 04 - 08:45 AM Doesn't 11th/175 indicate a finite number? j |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 02 Sep 04 - 09:05 AM yes, it is finite... but the 175 can increase in integer steps. I only post one per day: I have written as many as 4 in a day, but not often. I will likely reach the end of the ones to this muse- then I can start on ones to past muses... |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: 42 Date: 02 Sep 04 - 09:27 AM that will be very amusing (never one to miss the obvious)(or the last post) j |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: Little Hawk Date: 02 Sep 04 - 01:10 PM Okay, that's it. I started this silly thread, and It's gone far enough! This is the last post. I will continue sending you such jpegs until you learn the error of your ways. So this is the last post on this thread. Believe it. It's over. Nothing to see here. Move on, go home, be off with you! Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 03 Sep 04 - 01:28 PM 12th of 177... Sonnet 29/05/01 DLXII Does Nature send a storm, to match the mood Within your mind? Does thunder roar, to show The anger that you feel at fools? What rude Remarks have lightning brought to eyes, that glow With outrage? How dare they ask of those things They have no right to know? Do not allow Such fools such power, even to feel stings: They are not worth your time, not then , nor now. You remain rose, though perhaps thorns might grow To drive away some pests. An honest hate Is not without it's value: You may show That some things are not proper to relate. Sometimes you need to say you will not say, And just refuse to games with some fools play. |

Sonnet 29/05/01 DLXIII I see a bit of heaven in your eyes, And know that I have found for certain one Full-fledged angel. Not even Earthly guise Can hide your truth from me, though perhaps none Other has seen your soul. You hold the key To heart's desire, yet wield a sword of fire Against unreason. Are my dreams to be Unlocked by you? Or, should I hopes retire? I seek for dreams, and hopes, and heart's desire, Yet do not know if I dare hold you here, On mortal plane. You might my verse inspire, But can I ever hope to hold you near? Could I bring dreams to life, would I heart reach, To hold you near, and mortal pleasures teach? |

Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: Little Hawk Date: 06 Sep 04 - 12:04 PM If all women are beautiful it follows that all people are beautiful. This is an idea that I have heard expressed by the enlightened. It makes sense on a soul level, but perhaps not on a bodily or a personality level...depending on your viewpoint. |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: beardedbruce Date: 06 Sep 04 - 12:14 PM If the soul is beautiful, does a thinking person need more? |
Subject: RE: BS: In every thread someone has to be last! From: Little Hawk Date: 07 Sep 04 - 12:30 AM All a thinking person needs to do is contact his or her Soul. This may not be as easy as it sounds. Depends on how your mind normally functions. Most people's minds are rather scattered, and focused more on outward distractions. Experiencing a connection with Soul is an inward process. That's why it says in the Bible: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven which is within" and "Be still and know God" That means: first still the body, then still the restless, chattering mind...while remaining awake and alert. Most people have great difficulty doing that. Try it and see... Try it frequently. It's called: meditation or contemplation. Most people seem to feel they haven't got enough "time" for it! :-) That's my usual excuse too... |
