Many thanks to Pene for help given in our previous request.

We now have another. We are trying to track down the lyrics and tune (if possible) to "When Nancy Died" by Eric Bogle. If anyone can help with the lyrics and/or the tune we'd be grateful.

We keep looking for both his songbooks but as they are out of print this may take us some time.

Don't know the song, but check out bookfinder.com, have found amazing things in out of print through them. You might be able to get the book/sheet music.

The song books may be out of print but I think that the song book CD's which contain a selection from the song books are still availabe. I have both and enjoy them.

Can't help out with the lyrics but according to his site (I see Sorcha has given you the link in a previous post), it is called Since Nancy Died and is on an album called Now I'm Easy.

Thank you, IvanB, for posting the tune on the thread before submitting it to Alan. While I realize that the Midi page is much easier to use for most Mudcatters, the loss of the ABC component has been very frustrating. My antiquated computer will not handle Midi's, and I like to save the miniscule text file ABC's right along with the lyrics. It's too bad that the program used on the alternate Mudcat site can't be used on the Midi page so that we would have a variety of formats to choose from. I use the alternate site a lot, but it is way out of date, and doesn't cover songs posted to the forum.
