Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Amos Date: 09 Oct 02 - 09:59 PM Just arrived, Margaret V's lovely rendition of "Sally Gardens", with a delightful tracery of crickets playing back-up rhythm. If I was really sharp I would be able to tell what the temperature was outside when it was recorded, but me old ears aren't that delicate anymore!! :>) Thanks, Margaret! A |

Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Amos Date: 10 Oct 02 - 07:53 PM Khandu: Heard it! "A Cool Cup of Water" is beeyooodiful, man!! Like wind on the Mississippi just after a sunner sundown, out where the doves are saying goodnight to the crickets. As nice a track as I've heard. Thanks!! A |

Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: GUEST,reg Date: 11 Oct 02 - 05:51 PM Of course you realize, as with any performance of mine, there are at least 10 mistakes. See how many you can find. ;~) |

Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: alanabit Date: 12 Oct 02 - 06:43 AM So Khandu's CD is finished. This is good news in itself! |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Stephen L. Rich Date: 12 Oct 02 - 07:17 AM So,Khandu, how can the rest of us find this CD? Have you, at least, an mp3 or two posted somewhere so that we can hear a bit of it? |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: khandu Date: 12 Oct 02 - 02:05 PM No. Unfortunately, khandu's CD is not finished. What Amos has received is a rather raw recording of a rather raw live performance of one rather raw song. Alas, I do not have any music on the web. Perhaps soon. At the present rate, it seems I will be 60 before I finish my CD (not really that long!). But the day it is done, I will certainly post it on the 'Cat. Also, on that day, I will fulfill my promise to send a copy to a particular Mudcat member (whose CD I listen to and enjoy often)! :-) Thanks for the interest! khandu |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Amos Date: 12 Oct 02 - 10:20 PM Sorry if I gave a false impression about a "CD" -- I meant the medium, not a "full CD of songs". However, my imnpression is that Khandu can do and is definitely worth waiting for. As far as I know we are now in the "Sort and normalize" phase of the initial work plan I laid out so long ago. Although we are well behind schedule, we are definitely still within the budget -- meaning volunteer hours and postage only to date, plus the costs of a lot of disks and tapes distributed across all those who sent stuff. For which, my eternal gratitude! I should be able to provide an initial breakout list soon for the CDs I am proposing. Meanwhile Mudcat Management is reviewing options on how to manage the logistics of production, payment and delivery. So we should hear more on that. Right now it is looking like a series of four CDs, estimating about 80 minutes playtime per CD. WOW!! What a great concatenation of fine singing that is!! By the time you've heard it all once you'll have forgotten what the first cuts sounded like. And of course, as you get older, you forget more, faster. So in effect this one series is a lifetime supply of good music!!! How about that!! Wodda boggin!! Pity we don't all have DVD players!! But we are on track and moving ahead as fast as discretionary time will allow. So don't despair!! They SHALL be there!! Warm regards, A |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: khandu Date: 12 Oct 02 - 10:28 PM Amos, again I thank you for the kind words. Perhaps this has been asked before, Amos. If there are four CDs, will they be "released" as a boxed set, or will they be marketed individually? Or, am I jumping the gun here? Is it too soon to answer? khandu |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Chip2447 Date: 12 Oct 02 - 10:36 PM Amos, except for a crappy sound card, a lame assed microphone, and a limited memory pc I would send you some Chip the Ocarinageek ocarina songs. Maybe I'll be able to have something ready for volume two. Chip2447 |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Amos Date: 13 Oct 02 - 12:59 AM Well, it is not really my question to answer, khandu. Until I hear from Mudcat Middle Management I can't say what the logistics path willl look like. But you'll know as soon as I do, A |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Stephen L. Rich Date: 13 Oct 02 - 01:29 AM Amos -- Glad to hear that you're back at work on the project. It's been said before, but bears repeating. Thank you for all of your efforts to make this thing happen. |

Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Amos Date: 13 Oct 02 - 01:19 PM What a remarkable opportunity to acheive and acquire high value at unusally low cost, Mister B. :>) Stateside, we Colonials refer to such opportunities as "bargains", but in New York's Garment District, the term is always pronounced "boggin". A |
Subject: RE: MUDCAT CD VIII: Azure Morning Tunes!! From: Cappuccino Date: 14 Oct 02 - 02:54 AM Thanks, Amos and Sorcha - I read it in the English dialect, as you might use it in the phrase: 'that was boggin' awful...' !!!! - ian B |
